Nothing kills creativity and motivation quite like pressure to crank out content. That's where a content strategy comes in to save the day. The key here is to create consistent AND quality content, you need to know your audience and remember to post for them; let them inform your content, not trends, bells, or whistles. In this episode we talk more about:
Even some light planning can help make sure you stay consistent in reaching your audience without posting for the sake of posting SOMETHING. No one likes feeling pressured or desperate, and the tips I share on the latest podcast episode will help alleviate the chance of burnout.

Especially if you're over a certain age, Instagram can feel like a members-only club of 20 somethings all running around with their giant smoothies and 47 snake plants. Young people love their trends, and why wouldn't they? A lot of their social media usage is purely for entertainment/garnering popularity among their viewers. Trends are great for that.
What they are NOT great for, is converting your audience into customers. On this episode of This is Virginia Kerr, the Podcast, we discuss ways to incorporate social media into your small business in ways that make it work for YOU, with special guest Jan Ditchfield. We break down:
Cause making reels about the aesthetic of your morning routine probably won't sell your product…

TikTok tries, it really does. And it actually has things that other platforms lack. Do I love it like I used to? Nope. But I can admit that are some things it just does *better*. That's why on this episode I go more into:
In terms of your brand and content, TikTok is a useful tool. The problem is when you start relying on it as a source of self-confidence or start listening to the trolls. Because the app is showing your videos to a broader audience, while you'd think this was a benefit, it also means that unintended views can yield some pretty hurtful backlash.
I found a way to make TikTok work FOR me without losing sleep over it (I was literally losing sleep over it).
I can't make the call for you and your family, but hopefully this episode will help you make an informed decision that has taken all aspects of TikTok into account.

TikTok. You know it, you love it, you spend hours scrolling on it…should you delete it? But then what would get you through the unending workday/parenthood/existential dread?
Also, don't I literally run a program that offers video coaching to help you grow your brand? Indeed I do, but not at the expense of security, safety, or brain development. That's why on this episode we'll take a closer look at:
I can't make the decision for you, but I'm a firm believer that it should be YOUR choice. And I think that choice should be informed by every element of the issue at hand.
If you feel like you can be disciplined and careful, don't completely discount TikTok as a resource to expand your brand. Heck, I'm still on there, and in the next episode we'll explore the positives associated with the app.
I want to help you make the best decision for you and your family, doing whatever it takes to keep you healthy and safe.

Is everybody making videos but you?
With all the content out there, it's easy to feel that way. Like there's no room for anything new from you. You should just give up now, take up knitting, and settle in for a quiet, Reel-less life, right? Wrong. In this episode we're going to talk more about how:
I know how discouraging it can feel to watch someone say what you want to say and get all the likes and follows. But that could be you too! You just have to make the videos and put yourself out there.
I know it feels risky and redundant, but it's not. Your voice needs to be heard. People will connect with you and your experiences. All you have to do is be you.

If you're afraid of posting video on Instagram, this one's for you. I dreaded making video content for social media when I started.
I was lost and intimidated. I posted random stuff on Instagram and only trends and silly videos on TikTok. This was not the way to build my business with video. To do that, I was going to have to get real and actually speak on camera. In this episode we'll talk more about:
While video can be scary- it gets easier the more and more you do it. And it will explode your business when done the right way!
Learn from my mistakes and come out with a game plan for your video creation.
