In Brené Browns book Dare to Lead, there are so MANY great nuggets (obvs, because she's brilliant) but the one I want to talk about here is values.  She says we have ultimately two values that we abide by in life, or are the compass for us to help us navigate this winding journey of life.  They may change during the different seasons of life, but ultimately they keep us anchored, grounded, and rooted in who we are and how we lead.

What’s your word of the year?

It was 2016 when I started doing this exercise…little did I know how important it would be to my growth as a mama, business owner and friend.  When I am feeling weak, or scared, or unsure…my word of the year as helped get me grounded to what I want and need.

In this episode I reflect on past words and where I was in my journey and how each year was a theme.

I love the end of the year.  🙌🏻

Looking back on the year and reflecting on all the things.  What worked, what didn’t, and everything in between.  

Over the past six years, I have been super intentional about my goal setting practice.  Not only what I wanted not only my business to look like, but my life.  Kids, family, relationships, health, finances and spiritual.  It’s so fun to look back at those years and see what goals were accomplished, and which ones got put back on the list.   

The good? 

Each year, I’ve gotten better.  Better at setting goals, better at planning and executing them and this year was the best year in accomplishing them.  

And Yes!  2021 was another personal best year.  AWESOME!

Who loves this time of year?  Specifically goal setting? 

I genuinely love taking the time to reflect, acknowledge and look ahead with more wisdom to pull from.  And when I learned that my guest has a passion for designing your amazing business,  I had to share her with you all. 

Meet Seran Glanfield, a pilates business coach. I started listening to Seran’s podcast and always had take aways that I could apply to my brick and mortar business, so I asked if she’d be willing to share a bit of wisdom on here.  Lucky for you she said yes, and you’re in for a treat.
