  • S2 E9: Supporting parents of neurodivergent kids with Danielle Peters

    Send us Fan Mail

Neurodivergent kids and those with complex medical issues can add enormous challenges to parents. My guest this week, Danielle Peters, shares her expertise in helping parents to feel empowered and hopeful as they navigate the challenging days and nights with a child with special needs. I remember thinking it was such a gift for her to share these insights, because too often, we overlook these everyday challenges, forgetting how impactful they are.  I am thankful for this episode and its ability to create compassion and practical advice for parents. • S2 E6: A vulnerable, powerful story about alcoholism with Lianna Purjes

    Send us Fan Mail

I still get goosebumps when I listen to this episode. This was one of the most powerful and vulnerable interviews I have done where my guest, Lianna Purjes, shared some of the deepest parts of herself as a child of an alcoholic mother. Listen as she shares her truth about feelings growing up with her mother, as well as the constant battle that family members face when their loved ones are in the depths of addiction. It's with such a humble, grateful heart that I share this episode with you all.

Cross listed with my other podcast (Launched about a month ago on Kids These Days...)
My guest, the amazing perinatal specialist (and AUTHOR!) - Megan MacCutcheon, shares incredible information that is crucial to better pregnancies, childbirth and post-partum. It can be uncomfortable for all people - even confrontational - when we don't spend time talking about things that matter to both the pregnant woman (and her family members!).  Megan shares practical strategies for how to communicate, what to say, and how to advocate for both physical and emotional wellness.

  • S2 E2: "Am I doing therapy right?" with Sunnie Allen

    Send us Fan Mail

There are often so many questions around starting, and engaging, in therapy "correctly." From both the client and therapist perspective!! When should I see someone? Am I doing this right? Am I able to help this person? Is this therapist able to help me?

My mentee, and amazing therapist friend, Sunnie Allen, joins me on the show this week to talk all of these things!  As I was re-listening, I was just so connected to this idea of remembering my authentic self - in so many ways. Thank you, Sunnie, for sharing your gifts as you talk about #thingsyoulearnintherapy.
