This week on Thursday Thoughts, Polly and I are talking about the importance of the people we surround ourselves with.
As Jim Rohn famously said, “We are the average of the five people we spend the most time with.” If you want to feel good, stay inspired, and move toward your goals, it’s essential to be intentional about who you spend your time with.
Seek out mentors, supportive friends, and growth-minded people who elevate and encourage you. At the same time, be mindful of those who drain your energy or leave you feeling negative about yourself and the world.
We hope there’s something useful in here for you.

Let's face it, making friends as an adult can be hard. And for us singletons, it's arguably even more important that we find our tribe.
But are we taking responsibility for finding and cultivating more connections in our lives, or are we waiting for potential friends to rock up to our house and knock on our door?
In this minisode, I speak to Mel Robbins' book, The Let Them Theory, and share her advice on how we can go about finding the friendships we really want.

On today’s Thursday Thoughts, Polly and I are talking about making excuses.
We all do it, don’t we? Whether it be making excuses for why we CAN’T do something, or making excuses for why we CAN do something we know we shouldn’t be doing.
In this conversation, Polly and I talk about where we make excuses in our own lives - how we can both be professional procrastinators, and also how we’re brilliant at reasoning why that chocolate eclair or second glass of wine is, actually, a brilliant idea. 🍷
We also talk about ways we can stop the excuses - by making it harder to do the thing we know we shouldn’t, and making it easier to do the thing we know we should.
We hope you’ll find something useful in here!

My guest on the podcast this week is the gorgeous Emma Phipps.
Emma is the maker and creator of feel-good brand Beau Tie which began in 2012 when she started turning thrifted fabrics from charity shops, into bow ties. This soon branched out into a focus on the wedding industry with a full range of bow ties, ties and pocket squares. In 2020, Emma pivoted into the world of scrunchies and the term “Scrunchie Cult’ began. This was followed by sleep masks and headbands. She works from her home studio, where she makes and packs everything herself, alongside her house cat Snowy. Emma sources her fabrics from all over the world, whilst going on solo trips. Her brand is all about making women feel empowered and enhancing their style, as well as prioritising comfort.
She is single and childfree.

On this week's minisode, I'm talking about an important life concept that we often get backwards — the idea that when we get the thing that we want to have, we'll be happy. In reality, it works entirely the other way around.

On this week’s Thursday Thoughts, Polly and I are talking about how stress impacts fat loss.
We discuss how chronic stress keeps your body in survival mode—leading to increased belly fat storage, a slower metabolism, and heightened cravings.
We also explore why a regulated nervous system is key to shifting back into fat-burning mode and share practical ways to support this process.
We hope you find something helpful in this episode.

Let’s be real — being single and child-free? It’s pretty damn awesome. Don’t believe me? Stick around. I promise you, by listening to this podcast, you’re going to start seeing your solo life in a…
I’m Lucy Meggeson, and I’m here to help you stop seeing singlehood as a consolation prize and start embracing it as the incredible opportunity that it is. Because the truth? Being single isn’t second best. It’s not a waiting room. And it sure as hell isn’t a life of lack. In fact, when you lean into it, it can be just as fulfilling—if not more so—than being coupled up with kids.
And besides, no matter what our relationship status, what we all really want is to feel good in the here and now. So instead of focusing on what’s ‘missing,’ let’s focus on what’s possible. The freedom. The adventure. The extra time and headspace to create a life that’s truly our own.
Because here’s the thing: you are so much more powerful than you realise. Your thoughts shape your reality. And when you shift your mindset, you shift your life. My mission isn’t just to help you feel better about being single—it’s to help you recognise your own agency. To help you see that you are the creator of your own experience. And that you, and you alone, get to decide what your life looks like.
So join me here every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and let’s build lives that feel joyful, meaningful, and wildly fulfilling — on our own terms.
Let’s Thrive Solo…together.
