Rebecca Osborn is a vectorborne disease epidemiologist with the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. As an epidemiologist, she tracks and studies human cases of diseases spread by ticks, mosquitoes, and other vectors, and also conducts outreach to the public and health care providers on disease prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. She also coordinates environmental surveillance of vectorborne infections in ticks and mosquitoes, and tracks infections in domestic animals and wildlife. Rebecca has a Masters of Public Health in Epidemiology from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and has been working as a vectorborne disease epidemiologist for 8 years. Prior to her current role as an epidemiologist, Rebecca worked as a microbiologist studying Borrelia bacteria and Blastomyces fungi, and also as a wildlife health biologist conducting disease surveillance in wild bird and mammal populations.
