Two Girls, One Spiral episodes

  • Are we actually friends or is it just convenient?

This week is as always, a bit chaotic.

Amber joins the episode running on fumes (and a cough that nearly takes her out), baby Aurelia makes an unexpected guest appearance, Annabel shares her latest world-record achievement (yes, really), and somehow the conversation covers everything from bottle refusal and reflexology to Pitbull, friendship boundaries and diarrhoea.

It's one of those episodes that's a little bit all over the place, but also exactly what Two Girls, One Spiral is all about. Send us your listener spirals to: [email protected]

  • I'd be an excellent Traitor

This week we're discussing the wedding that seemingly stopped New York. Was Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Madison Square Garden wedding an iconic celebrity affair, or completely out of touch? We spiral into billionaires, fan culture, celebrity privilege and whether anyone really needs to shut down a city to get married.

Elsewhere, we're debating which reality show we'd actually succeed on (The Traitors? Yes. Love Island? Absolutely not), talking about when you suddenly realise you're getting older, and Amber opens up about the intrusive fear of losing the people she loves.

Plus, this week's listener spiral asks: if you changed your surname for marriage, built your career around it, then got divorced... should you have to change it back?

  • Three Peaks in 24 Hours

This week, we're talking perfectionism, failure, and why trying your best doesn't always feel like enough. Annabel opens up about attempting the Three Peaks Challenge, Amber accidentally goes viral (again), we discuss why social media makes failure feel impossible, and answer a listener spiral about leaving the hairdresser with a smile... despite hating your hair.

  • Tonight, Matthew, I'm going to be...

This week Amber and Annabel are spiralling about feet, limb differences, and the logistics of an OnlyFans pivot (purely hypothetical, obviously). Annabel has a full meltdown over a TikTok video that spirals into "what would my life look like if I lost an arm or a leg" territory, while Amber gets brutally honest about the weird, messy in-between of becoming a mum of two - the identity wobble, the loss of ambition, and the guilt of feeling lucky and lost at the same time.

  • The Never-Ending To Do List

This week’s spiral is sponsored by washing that never gets folded, photos that never get printed, subscriptions we forgot to cancel, and the realisation that adulthood is just one giant admin task.

We jump headfirst into the spiral of feeling constantly behind. From toddler maths quizzes at 6am and newborn life, to overflowing notes app to-do lists and the existential dread of having another 40 years of work ahead of you, we ask the question you've all thought at some point.

    We'd love to know:

👉 What's the smallest, most ridiculous task sitting on your to-do list that you've been avoiding for weeks (or months)?

Email us at [email protected] and tell us your spiral. We promise we're probably avoiding something even more embarrassing.

  • Is it overthinking if you're usually right?

Welcome to the very first episode of Two Girls, One Spiral.

After four years of Am I Ovary Acting, we're rebranding ourselves as the Taylor Swift's of the podcast world by entering a new era. Same hosts, still very much oversharing, and the same inability to leave any thought alone, but a slightly bigger space to talk about all the things that make us laugh, cry, rage and importantly: spiral.

This week we're asking an important question: are women actually overthinking everything, or are we just carrying the responsibility of well, everything? From analysing text messages and replaying conversations to the emotional load of friendships, relationships and modern life, we're chatting about why so many of us seem physically incapable of simply letting things go.

Plus, our very first listener spiral: a woman whose reaction to a bereavement still haunts her to this day.

If you've ever convinced yourself somebody hates you because they replied "thanks" instead of "thank you", then this is for you gal!

  • Everywhere I turn, someone is pregnant

Amber is convinced today is the day (again), debates whether it’s acceptable for her husband to watch Chelsea mid-labour, and the end is very much nigh.

We talk infertility, pregnancy announcements, showing up for friends when it’s hard, why there’s no universal right way to support someone going through IVF (or postpartum), and how Instagram has somehow made basic human compassion more stressful.

Also: Ally Pally, nickname icks, emergency poos, and the realisation that after five years of podcasting and friendship, we’ve never actually shared a bottle of wine.

As always, we solve nothing, but we do talk about it properly.

  • I don't know if I'm turned on or repulsed?

This week, Annabel’s run is cut short by her bowels (again), Amber is convinced she’s about to go into labour, and we spiral over baby showers, gift etiquette, and how much money is acceptable to give without looking cheap. There’s accidental auction drama, emotional support monkeys, too much TV sex, being loved loudly, and at least one conversation that absolutely goes too far.

As always, we cover everything, including disposable pants.

  • This is the reason you're not getting pregnant

This week on Am I Ovary Acting, Amber and Annabel talk about the mental load that comes with infertility, pregnancy, and trying to feel like yourself in the middle of it all. Talking frustrations around unsolicited advice - including the reason Annabel's IVF apparently hasn't worked, anxiety about birth, and the pressure to stay positive. A candid, funny conversation about hormones, boundaries, and being damn well done with everyone’s opinions.

  • Esther Bathers: Posthumous Conception - IVF, Grief & Motherhood

Trigger warning: This episode discusses grief and baby loss.

In this episode, Esther shares her journey through IVF, grief, and becoming a mum after losing her husband. She opens up about posthumous conception, donor eggs, miscarriage, and the emotional toll of trying to build a family while navigating widowhood. Esther also reflects on solo motherhood and what it means to raise her son while keeping his Dad's memory alive. A powerful conversation about loss and love.
