Katie Corbett shares a harrowing part of her life where she was so poorly treated in her job for over 10 months, that she she began to question her own sanity. Katie was born blind, however she literally only shares about this fact to add context to the workplace abuse. She even questioned whether it was discrimination against her blindness. She is an amazingly brave woman who needed all of her might to recover from such a toxic and gaslighting environment at the wrath of one woman that even ended up in court!

Kyle is back for this one and its a goodie! As Luke and Kyle dig in to the wonder and strife of religion, politics, and faith! This is the After Thoughts section for the previous episode, Terina Maldonado's story, in which she tells us all about running away from the LDS church with her Husband and kids. Simply amazing.

Terina Maldonado was born into the LDS church. Her parents were, and still are, firm believers and members, and she knew nothing else. That is until one day, after having kids of her own inside the church system, doubts started to creep in. After a quick search on the internet about the LDS Church movement, (she laughs about why she didn't do this sooner) Terina's entire world was turned upside down as her and her husband began the process of a painful deconstruction of their faith. Leaving the Mormon Church is not made easy, and in this fascinating and jaw dropping episode, Terina opens up about her experiences and traumas, and how she began the path to success and positivity in the wake of such a life changing cross roads.

As with all our episodes, we like to add in an After Thoughts section here, to discuss what we learned and felt from the previous episode. Luke and Kyle, your hosts, recount Jennifer Soames' amazing and courageous episode about her decade with brain injury, and how strong the human spirit can be to persevere though seemingly impossible times.

Jennifer Soames was involved in a horse riding accident 10 years ago, and we welcome her to the show as she recounts the accident itself, and explains how that was just the very beginning of her long and continuing journey of recovery. Every brain injury (including stroke) is different and unique, and yet the experience of trauma and moving forward from it is one to which most people connect. Jennifer discusses the pain and frustration, loneliness, and the growth that comes with this journey. Developing PTSD, depression, chronic fatigue syndrome, dysautonomia and more has affected her in every aspect of my life, yet also taught her the most valuable lessons in processing grief, setting and respecting boundaries, being proactive, acceptance, and resilience. No matter what circumstances. Amazing!!

Just little old Luke again this week, as I ponder on the pervious episode, Mark's Story, and we once again think about the fragility of life. In Mark's case, you never know what is around the next corner, literally! In the blink of an eye his life changed in a flash, but he survived, and lived to tell the tale, and became a superhuman in the meantime!
