Katherine Marie gave birth to her twins at 25 weeks pregnancy, thats's 15 weeks premature! They were approx 1 lb in weight, and survived, although both have learning difficulties. Amazingly this wasn't the trauma or experience Katherine came on the show solely to discuss, it was of course a main part of her story, but she came on to tell us about her Breast Cancer diagnosis, her initial reaction, her fear,s her courage, and her battle to clear the cancer from her body through surgeries, and both chemo and radio-therapy. Now 'free of any cancer in her body' she speaks openly about what her diagnosis meant to her, to her kids and how they all got through!

In this after thoughts section of our podcast, Luke and Kyle discuss Fran's story (the previous episode), and what stress and worry can really do to the human body. I think we can all agree that living a stress-free life sounds amazing!? But do any of us really know how to achieve such a thing? Food for thought.

We all live with stress and worry, and some of us much more than others. We have had so many guests on who have discussed ways in which we can control our thinking, lessen worry, live in the present, but of course it's easier said than done! Our guest Fran Garton was suffering so badly with stress that it brought on Fibromyalgia, which in turn brought on a loss of sight! Fran puts this all down to stress and her mental health, that led to a complete breakdown in her physical health. As with all our episodes, we hear Fran’s recovery from her situation, how things changed, and what she did to turn things around. It's an inspiring come-back story with some tips and advice for those who may be suffering with similar stress levels and physical ailments. Thank you Fran!

Wow, what an amazing episode we just listened too. We can hardly believe Robert Goodland is still with us and he really went through so very dark times. We think this story has it all, and really admire the outcome. Robert certainly went to the darkest depths, literally, and is now shining in the light of his new found life working with other trauma survivors, and horses! What a life he is leading! Thank you Robert!

Robert Goodland and is a retired Lieutenant and Paramedic from a career in the fire Dept. In December 2007 during a training SCUBA dive, he suffered a catastrophic equipment failure under the ice, 80 feet from his return entrance hole. He was unconscious and not breathing when he was pulled from beneath the ice. The subsequent journey through the trauma was life changing. This is his story of trauma, near death, ptsd, and slow and steady recovery. Robert invested in a horse while away from work, and it was his connection with this horse that literally saved Robert from his suicidal thinking after everything he had been through. As with all our stories, we focus on the journey, and the triumph and this is no exception. Robert now works with people, and horses, with his own trauma recovery company. What an amazing career change and an amazing story!

April did, and is here to tell us that there is hope on the other side. It's a fascinating and courageous episode, and we commend April for her strength to tell us her story with honesty and humility.

Buckle up for this one, an absolute rollercoaster of a story told to us by April De Mille, about her childhood, her upbringing, her cycle of abusive relationships and her plummet into drug addiction. As if all of this wasn't enough, April tells us of the tragic death of her youngest daughter age just 3 years old. For all the tragedy and despair April went through, she somehow made it out of the wilderness and is now telling her story on the hopes that she can help others. Another amazing episode as we hear about how the human spirit can overcome all sorts of trauma! Thank April!

Join Luke and Kyle as we unpack the insanity that was Anne's story in the previous episode! What a ride and what extraordinary trauma Anne had to endure with her kids. It was a heartbreaking tale but the fact that Anne is here to tell the tale, and her kids are doing OK, is testament to her courage and strength. To any of our listeners who are going though things, we hope you find some comfort in these stories of recovery and triumph over such traumatic events and experiences.
