Addiction can often be covering up a bigger emotional or traumatic issue. Drink, drugs, eating disorders, gambling and other forms of addiction are all encompassing and overpowering and it take a monumental effort to overcome and recover from what is often years of addictive behavior. TW: Gambling and Suicidal Thoughts.
Addiction comes in many forms, and in Gary's case, it was Gambling that was to bring him to his knees. What started as a fun distraction became an all encompassing nightmare for Gary, and everyone around him. If he wasn't gambling, he was obsessing about it, and thinking of ways he could get his next fix. As the money vanished, he would start stealing to cover his tracks. Gary estimates a total loss of $2m!!! But it was the emotional toll on him, his family, and his friends that really hit the hardest. As usual, we focus on the recovery, and we thank Gary for an amazingly vulnerable, honest, and inspiring episode.

Rebekah  and her 4 siblings were brought up by strict Christian parents, where the bible was the letter of the law, and physical contact was almost obsolete. As a teen, she rebelled, breaking free from the constraints of her parents rule, only to find herself missing the security of her Christian faith a few years later. She returned to church, both her and her husband became Pastors. Then, one day, she would suddenly find herself questioning every element of her belief, which would lead to a total deconstruction of her Christian faith altogether. This is a mind bending, extraordinary and fascinating story, with an amazing and uplifting conclusion!!

After experiencing back pain over a few months, Adam went for a simple corrective back surgery. After the surgery went well, he was surprised to be called back to the doctors office two weeks later. At age 39, Adam was diagnosed with Primary Progressive MS. Things would never be the same again. In this riveting episode, Adam, now 52, discusses how the disease has progressed, the mental strength he needs to get though, and what it is like fathering 2 x children despite the adversity he faces every day. Adam is Inspiring, funny, and courageous and thats just for starters!

Heidi had finally begun to feel alive after years of depression and suicidal thoughts, and had met the man of her dreams, Mike, in a seminar. They fell in love and began a life together. Then, the day before her 40th Birthday, Mike, had a massive heart attack in front of her. She tried CPR, and she watched while the first responders did everything they could but they couldn't save him . It's been 2.5 years. since that day. Heidi discusses grief in an amazingly clear way. After 20 years, Ann finally found the strength to escape an abusive, emotionally crippling, and desperate marriage.  Just as her life was beginning to blossom, disaster struck. After coming down with the Flu one day, Ann's health started to deteriorate,  and the next day, she awoke with no feeling in her legs. After emergency, life saving surgery to remove hundreds of blood clots throughout Ann's lower body, she was told that her leg needed to be amputated. Tune in to hear how focus, faith, strength, and sheer determination would give Ann a chance to keep her legs and walk again!
