This week on the HappyCast, we are joined once again by the Swiss Army Knife of Ultrarunning, Wes Plate, as we discuss everything from his upcoming race director debut at Copper Kings 100, to Arizona Monster 300 training, and a whole lot more! 

Wes discusses the challenges up preparing for his first ever race directing gig at his inaugural Copper Kings 100. From permitting to the logistics, and trying to differentiate his race from other “premium” 100 mile races. Wes is trying to strike that balance between epic and accessible for all.  Stephanie, who ran the unofficial course last year, also chimes in and will also be volunteering this year. Wes also joins Andrew to talk about their prep for the upcoming Arizona Monster 300; the newest, biggest, and baddest 200+ mile race yet. With the race coming up in April, Wes talks about balancing that, recovering for his fifth Cocodona 250 in May, and then topping it all off with Copper Kings 100 in June. It’s safe to say that Wes has quite the full plate!
