How many first or second dates have you gone on where you can immediately see the hurt from past relationships on this new person’s face? It’s almost like watching a movie and seeing the ghosts of their past.

You know I’m a huge proponent of being authentic and if someone has been hurt in the past, it’s pretty normal for that to have an effect on them. In no way am I suggesting they pretend to be someone different or to hide past trauma. However, there’s something to be said about looking forward and holding out hope that this new date will be different instead of just assuming that all men are the same.
