垃圾到底怎么说？

refuse/rubbish    英式的说法

trash/ garbage   美式的说法

上海垃圾筒旁边流行问：Which trash are you？  侬是啥垃圾？

其实原意是which trash are you bringing？

三种垃圾类别：

干垃圾：dry trash

湿垃圾：wet/ biological trash

有害垃圾：toxic trash　（电池之类等）

被垃圾分类“逼疯”的上海人民—智慧总结：

Pigs eat wet trash, but not dry trash.

猪可以吃的是湿垃圾，猪不可以吃的是干垃圾

2. Government advertisement campaign  政府的广告到处都是

垃圾桶的说法，要看大小（depends on the size）:

trash can   家用的小垃圾桶

trash bin   外面的中号垃圾桶

dumpster   垃圾站的大垃圾桶，大约四五米

trash truck   垃圾车

dump into the dumpster   扔垃圾

particularly strict policy  史上最严的政策

如果你违反的话，there will be a fine（罚款）！

民间的各种meme更像是一场“病毒传播”a spreading disease，加深了市民对垃圾分类的认知。

5. Have foreign media reported on this matter?  外国人怎么看这件事？

Not really though there is greater interests in what China is doing with its trash as this has impacts for other countries.

垃圾分类暂时还没上升到national policies, 因此外国媒体虽然对中国处理垃圾的方式更感兴趣，这件事情暂时还没有走出国门

Trash该怎么处理，仍然是一个lit topic around the world 全世界关注的一个焦点

不过，确实 It’ s definitely 麻烦！

减少垃圾三个步骤：

Reduce ：降低产出

reuse：重复利用

recycle：回收循环（成本高，且质量和作用降低）

️Plastic bag 塑料袋 

️Cloth bag  布包

Incur a pain to the person 让这人疼了，才有可能change his habit　（改变习惯）！

总之，能用的东西尽量用，不要再买新的。俭以养德！

Everyone was getting new phones, so I had to keep with the Joneses and buy one myself.
每个人都有了新手机，所以我得跟上潮流也给自己买一个


04. Sticky fingers   “三只手”，小偷小摸的人
sticky   粘糊糊的


He has a bad case of sticky fingers.
他有小偷小摸的坏习惯，控制不住去偷东西。


05. Pay the Pied Piper  付出代价


You may not get cancer from smoking quickly, but eventually you will have to pay the pied piper .
你可能不会因为抽烟而很快得癌症，但你始终得为吸烟付出代价。


06. Nuke / Burn the bridge  跟某人断交，关系破裂


burn the bridge    语气稍轻一些 还有修复的机会
nuke the bridge    完全结束


07. Water off a duck’s back  不在乎，没什么影响


People like to say bad things about me, but it’s like water off a duck’s back to me. 
对我评价不好，但是呢对我没有什么影响。


对什么事不Care，这么说：
roll off my back   
no dirt on my shoulder  


08. Good Cop/Bad Cop  一个唱红脸，一个唱白脸


一个唱红脸，一个唱白脸，最终 good Cop 会 get all information。但其实这是不过是他们使得一个trick。


How to use it? 


You are playing a “good Cop ＆bad Cop” with somebody.
You're playing a bad cop where is the  good cop
