In this episode, Giana and Bradshaw dive into the differences between Yin yoga and Restorative yoga. Giana, while lacking official certification in Yin yoga, offers her insights into the practice, shedding light on common sources of confusion among students. With a wealth of experience and formal training in Restorative yoga, she passionately details its benefits and objectives for our listeners. They both agree that the definitions of these practices and the vast range of styles has created a massive gray area that causes a lack of clarity and understanding. Giana jokes that It makes her want to become the yoga police, however, she recognizes that if students are finding comfort and ease within the gray, that’s all that matters. She still advocates for capital R restorative yoga, and shares the importance of slowing down, doing less, and embracing the magic of doing nothing as a form of self-care. We hope this episode inspires you to try these practices and as always, remember to rate, review, and subscribe!
