正文：Din Tai Fung’s 16 restaurants in the U.S. generated an average of $27 million in annual sales last year. Every Saturday, Taiwanese restaurant chain Din Tai Fung plates as many as 20,000 of its delicate, steamy dumplings. And that is just in Times Square.

Until recently, the cost of the world’s finest sweet wine rose steadily. By 2023 a given bottle from the producer went for 60% more than in the mid-2010s. At the time, all forms of opulence grew pricier—classic cars, aged whiskies and enormous mansions shot up in value, and Knight Frank’s “luxury-investment index” rose 70% from 2015 to 2023.

标题：Chen Ning Yang, Chinese Nobel Laureate in Physics, Dies at 103

正文：1.Chen Ning Yang, a Nobel Prize-winning physicist who gave up his US citizenship to become a citizen of China in 2015 and helped persuade other scientists to do the same, passed away. He was 103.
2.Yang died of illness on Saturday in Beijing, according to a statement posted on the Tsinghua University website.
3.The Nobel Prize Committee in 1957 recognized Yang and fellow physicist Tsung-Dao Lee, both of whom were born in China and later became naturalized US citizens.

正文：Thanks to social media, we’re now living in a subtitled world - even when that means divided attentions and error-strewn captions.
I used to think there were two types of people: the ones who only use subtitles when necessary, and the unappreciative philistines who use them for no good reason. I was willing to die on this hill, arguing that they distracted from the purity of the audiovisual experience: the cinematographer’s attention to detail, the glimpse of a tear in an actor’s eye, the punchline of an expertly timed joke, and so on.
