Mandy Mullen, lives in Colorado, she is a mom, wife, runner and a race director for Run Windsor - Northern Colorado Races. Mandy shares her journey into running and ultra marathons. She started running to improve her fitness after college and eventually qualified for the Boston Marathon. After witnessing the resilience and support of the running community during the Boston Marathon bombing, Mandy became even more passionate about running and set a goal to qualify for Boston herself. She went on to become a run coach and race director, organizing local races and relays. Mandy also started a nonprofit called Windsor Gives to promote running and eliminate barriers to participation. She has completed multiple 100-mile races and continues to challenge herself in the ultra running world. Mandy Mullen shares her experience of making the difficult decision to drop out of a race and the importance of listening to oneself and prioritizing personal well-being. We discuss the supportive nature of the running community and the power of mentorship.
