Over the last few months, I've been seeing a lot of influencers jumping on the bandwagon and starting to post on TikTok. To see what the platform is all about and to learn more, I created an account about 2 weeks ago and within 4 days of posting, I gained 10,000 followers. Since telling my Instagram followers about the growth, there's been a lot of interest in finding out how to use and grow an audience on Tik Tok.

In this episode I talk about what TikTok is, why I thought TikTok was irrelevant and why that opinion has changed, the potential TikTok has if you use it strategically to grow your audience, should you get on TikTok and my 7 best practices so you too can gain 10k new followers on TikTok in 4 days.

My 7 best practices for growing an audience on Tik Tok:

- Post 2-3 times per day to grow exponentially by batch creating your content.

- Niche down and speak to your target audience.

- Leverage the trends by repurposing a viral video and tailoring it to your audience.

- Provide value, inspiration or entertainment specifically to your target audience.

- Aim for longer watch times to be rewarded for keeping people engaged on the platform.

- Properly utilize the space given for captions, it isn't a lot.

- Let people know about your other social accounts for continued cross-platform growth.
