164. Dating Standards: Are You Too Picky or Not Picky Enough?

In this episode, we're getting into what standards in dating are (and what they're not) and how to tell if your standards are too high or too low. I get into the dangers of each and how to adjust your standards no matter which category you fall into. Are your standards holding you back? Hint: Too-high standards are a form of self-sabotage, and too-low standards are a form of self-abandonment.


Examples of dating standards:


  • I date people who have the time to see me in person within days of matching or first starting to talk.
  • I continue to date people who are consistent in their communication
  • I sleep with someone when I feel confident there’s alignment in what kind of relationship we’re both looking for 
  • I date people who have the ability to share times that work for them for dates, make plans with me and follow through 
  • I continue seeing people who I’m attracted to by the third date
