Today, I am blessed to have Leah Brueggemann here with me. She is a Functional Diagnostic Nutritional® Practitioner with a passion for holistic wellness. In this episode, Leah emphasizes that a balanced foundation is crucial for hormonal health rather than solely focusing on hormone levels. She suggests addressing mineral deficiencies, which can disrupt hormones even if blood tests appear normal. Hair tissue mineral analysis is recommended to assess mineral levels. Additionally, Leah highlights the importance of blood sugar regulation for hormone function, recommending a balanced diet with protein, fat, and fiber at every meal. She emphasizes stress management through deep breathing and meditation techniques to regulate the nervous system and promote hormonal health.

Later, Leah dives into the menstrual cycle; it’s a rhythm, but women try to fit it into a man's 24-hour cycle. This mismatch causes problems like fatigue and low progesterone. The cycle has four phases: period, follicular, ovulation, and luteal. Each phase has different hormonal balances and calls for different lifestyle approaches. Women can optimize their health and well-being by understanding these phases and aligning with them. Here are some tips for each phase:

Period: Rest and reflect. Don't push yourself with workouts or demanding tasks.

Follicular: Be creative, social, and build muscle. You're more sensitive to insulin during this time.

Ovulation: Collaborate, be gutsy, and take risks. You're at your peak power.

Luteal: Nurture yourself. Prioritize rest and relaxation. Focus on tasks that require less energy..
