What's more: A recent study found that nearly one in four women under the age of 25 have stopped shaving their underarms.

The truth is, women only started shaving their body and underarm hair for the sake of aesthetics because of the popular razor company ***. At the time, their only customers were men and they wanted to increase their revenue, so they targeted an untapped demographic for shaving: Women. They started marketing shaving towards women as a necessity and advertising armpit hair as undesirable.

Louis Vuitton has unveiled a life-size ocean liner installation, dubbed The Louis, at Taikoo Hui in Shanghai's Nanjing West Road business district.

Standing 30 meters tall, the ship-inspired structure pays homage to the French luxury brand's 19th-century heritage of crafting hard-sided travel trunks.

Its exterior features a cabin constructed from classic Louis Vuitton cases, while the hull is adorned with the brand's iconic monogram.

The new Vuitton flagship, inaugurated on Thursday, June 26, is now the largest store of the luggage maker in the world and is sure to be the talk of the town.

At a time when men wooed women with flowers, a Chinese emperor chose a different path.

Legend has it that emperor Tang Minghuang of the Tang Dynasty was in love with Yang Guifei, one of the most beautiful women in Chinese history. She was the emperor’s favorite concubine and Tang would do anything to please his ladylove.

Yang's favorite fruit was lychee. At the time, this fruit was not available at the capital where they lived. The emperor would therefore send his men all the way to South China to fetch the fruit for his beloved mistress. Lychee thus became a symbol of the emperor’s love for Yang.

Lychee fruits, till date, are held in high regard in China. In fact, many varieties of lychees are named after wealthy and influential Chinese families.

The health and beauty benefits of the lychee fruit are aplenty.

In Chinese medicine, these fruits are sometimes used to treat abdominal pain, coughs, neuralgia and swollen glands. A tea made from the peels helps alleviate diarrhea and is also said to cure skin rashes.

Lychee also helps in haircare. As the fruit is a rich source of Vitamin C, regular consumption of lychees helps ensure adequate supply of blood to the hair follicles. This increases hair strength and prevents breakage and split-ends.

Chinese mathematician Wang Hong has solved an "infamous" geometry problem called the Kakeya conjecture within three dimensions.

It is considered a breakthrough that could have implications for imaging, data processing, cryptography and wireless communication.

Wang — who was born in the southern Chinese city of Guilin and graduated from Peking University — is an associate professor at the New York University Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences.

Her proof of the three-dimensional Kakeya conjecture has placed her in the spotlight, with many experts considering her a strong contender for the prestigious Fields Medal. The Fields Medal, awarded every four years to mathematicians under 40, is one of the highest honors in the field. If awarded in 2026, Wang would become the first Chinese woman to receive this prestigious recognition.

Chinese host Zhu Dan's remarks on a variety show have once again landed her in the center of hot water.

Recently, the 43-year-old was accused of gender bias for how she distributed chicken soup on reality show Wonderland.

She gave the two drumsticks to younger male guests Zhou Yiran, 25, and Winwin, 28, saying "they're still growing," while female guests — 21-year-old Ouyang Didi and veteran actress Ning Jing, 53, — were given chicken wings instead.

《老友记》里最爱讲冷笑话的钱德勒——马修·派瑞，2023年10月于家中猝死，死亡原因终于浮出水面，害他的医生刚刚认罪：把超量的氯胺酮（k粉）当可乐一样卖给他！

A doctor who illegally sold Matthew Perry the anesthetic drug ketamine, fueling an addiction that led to the Friends star's fatal overdose, has agreed to plead guilty.

The doctor, Salvador Plasencia, supplied Perry with 20 vials of ketamine over two weeks in the period directly leading up to Perry's death, at times traveling to his house to inject him. He faces a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison and a $2 million fine.

Authorities have suggested that Dr Plasencia saw Perry as a cash cow, citing text messages he sent to another doctor Chavez about a month before the actor's death. "I wonder how much this moron will pay," he wrote in one.

Perry said that as a baby, he was so colicky that his parents took him to the doctor to see what was wrong. He said that the doctor prescribed him phenobarbital when he was just two months old. "I was noisy and needy, and it was answered with a pill." Perry acknowledged that treating infants with phenobarbital for colic and sleep issues was relatively common at the time.

One cause that has been speculated on by some experts is the possibility of an extremely rare double engine failure. 

Double engine failures are almost unheard of, with the most notable example being the 2009 "Miracle on the Hudson", when a US Airways Airbus A320 lost both engines to a bird strike moments after take-off from New York's LaGuardia Airport, but glided to safety.

One senior pilot told us that dual engine failure could also result from fuel contamination or clogging. 

Three experts who spoke to us suggested that the disaster may have occurred as the aircraft's flaps were not extended during take-off.

Flaps play a vital role during take-off, helping an aircraft generate maximum lift at lower speeds.

If they're not properly extended, a fully loaded jet - carrying passengers, heavy fuel for a long-haul flight, and battling hot conditions - will struggle to lift off.
