In this episode I NERD OUT and go into the neuroscience behind 7 traits of anxious people because I believe that knowing the science helps us & creates more awareness.
The truth is, anxiety is your brain acting normally, to an abnormal situation.
Thank you for listening and you can find me on IG here: @theanxietymd if you have any questions.
P.S I wrote THE book on healing anxiety. It's my life's work so that you don't have to suffer like I did.
The real cause of anxiety has very little to do with the mind and much more to do with old pain trapped in the body.
Until we address this root cause, we will never truly be able to HEAL our anxiety, only COPE with it...

Most people can’t heal from chronic anxiety because they don’t understand what anxiety truly is.
This episode shows exactly how “The Body Keeps The Score” and how healing actually occurs… and it’s not what you “think”!

You don't have anxiety, you have alarm.
That alarm is in your body and you need to feel it to heal it. But first you need to find it!
This episode is about seeing the true source and root cause of what you call "anxiety" i.e the alarm that is stored in your body.
Once you find your alarm you are well on your way to healing from chronic worry.

When we are "anxious" our automatic urge is to figure a way out of the feeling. But what if the problem with anxiety is too much thinking to start with?
You can't fix over thinking with more thinking, right? You must learn how to FEEL your way out.
Thanks for being here!

Episode 13 of the Anxiety Rx podcast is much of my story.
How I discovered I had anxiety (and alarm) how it tormented me, and how I found a way out.
I ramble quite a bit in this one, probably because I was triggered going into the most painful parts of my life.
It shares my experience with chronic anxiety and alarm and I hope that my healing journey provides insights you can use for your healing journey.

Many of us worriers have a "sunscreen" view of the world in that we block out 99% of the safety that is all around us.
If you can't see and commit to the world as a safe place, of course we are going to stay in ALARM.
If we believe the focus on threat keeps us safe, we will experience the exact opposite!

Do you allow yourself to receive? Or are you doing most of the people pleasing/giving to others?
When we see the world as a place that does not nourish us enough, as was often our childhood circumstance, we learn not to expect the world to help us, and actually CREATE a world that stops feeding us.
We often BLOCK and RESIST any help the world does give us, and then blame the world for not filling our needs... INABILITY TO RECEIVE is a chapter in my book "Anxiety Rx", and if we don't see how we block good things coming to us, we will sabotage our own perception of the world, seeing it as a place where we don't get enough.
But often we do get "enough", but just resist receiving it!
