Throughout my journey as a medical doctor, I've had the responsibility of prescribing anxiety medications to many.
They've been a beacon of relief for some, but for others, they've only skimmed the surface, bypassing deeper healing.
Coupled with the concern of side effects, it's crucial to approach this topic with understanding and knowledge.
Join me in this weeks episode as I delve into the intricate world of anxiety meds, aiming to educate and enlighten.

In this transformative discussion, we shed light on how codependence emerges when individuals compromise their own boundaries to support others, sometimes to the detriment of their own well-being.
Origins of the term "CoAlcoholic" provide insight into the roots of this complex issue.
We aim to break down these concepts with empathy, unveiling the profound consequences that arise when we neglect our own needs while excessively giving to others.
My wife Cynthia, a skilled trauma therapist, discuss this unhealthy dynamic along with what you can do to recognize and avoid falling into this destructive pattern.

In this episode, we explore the profound connection between anxious thoughts and the ALARM sensation stored in our bodies since childhood.
Surprisingly, that very ALARM sensation is your inner child or younger self.
When we feel this alarm, our instinct is to go into our heads and worry – a coping mechanism from our childhood that only intensifies our anxiety as adults.
To heal, you must find the alarm (and therefore your younger self) in your body and STAY with it WITHOUT reflexively going up in to your head with worry.
When you stay with the alam, you metabolize and neutralize it and rob the worries of their energy source and that is how you truly heal from chronic worry.
Tune in as we delve into this transformative journey of embracing the alarm, nurturing our inner child, and discovering the path to healing from chronic anxiety.

Many people I encounter express that their childhoods were positive, yet they continue to experience trauma. There are a couple of reasons why this might occur.
Firstly, some people may have difficulty recognizing the presence of their own trauma. It can be challenging to acknowledge and process the painful experiences from our pasts.
Secondly, individuals might not have been aware that they experienced a significant separation from their parent(s) during their formative years.
Alternatively, they may have inherited trauma from their parents and grandparents, which can deeply impact their well-being.
Recognizing the origin of our trauma can be immensely beneficial in addressing and healing chronic emotional dysregulation.
It is important to remember that you might be carrying the weight of something that was never meant to be yours to bear in the first place.

Have you ever found yourself trapped in an endless loop of negative spirals? Do you constantly find yourself engaging in the same maladaptive behaviors, seeking out similar types of relationships, or being stuck in an addictive cycle of worry?
If so, you're not alone. In fact, there's a fascinating phenomenon at play here, and it all goes back to our childhood.
Join me as I delve into the depths of the human psyche and explore what Freud famously termed the "Repetition Compulsion."
This compelling force drives us to unknowingly recreate familiar patterns from our past in our adult lives. It's a phenomenon that holds immense power over our actions and decisions.
In this thought-provoking episode, we'll shed light on why we find ourselves trapped in these repetitive cycles, uncovering the roots that lie deep within our formative years.
