This week on BBQ Nation we close out a chapter on the history of the nation as well as 2016.

To finish out the year Reynolds and I have selected some pieces of interviews we thought were fun, compelling.

Carman Kirk, Graham Kerr and the Montana Outlaws help us close out 2016.

We also say goodbye to KXL as the Nation is moving to a pair of our sister stations.

Starting January 7th BBQ Nation will be heard on KXGT 750/102.9 The Game at 10:00 a.m. on Saturdays plus BBQ Nation will also be aired on 970 Freedom at 2:00 p.m. (our normal broadcast time).

BBQ Nation will still have our affiliates on the Radio Northwest Network. We are adding KVI in Seattle late in January.

This week on BBQ Nation we are joined by Rebecca Marshall morning News Director and morning Anchor on KXL along with Danny Dwyer mid-day host on KUPL 98.7 The Bull.

Rebecca and Danny share some Christmas stories and family tradition. JT also puts them to the Christmas trivia test, play along and see if you get the right answer.

This week on BBQ Nation we present part two of JT’s interview with Graham Kerr the Galloping Gourmet. Graham talks about his life, his cooking, and throws in a couple of ideas for you to try at home.

Graham was the inspiration that got JT to start cooking when he was a kid. It’s a true joy to have him on BBQ Nation.

Next week we will be joined by Rebeca Marshall from KXL and Danny Dwyer from KUPL/The Bull. These two are famous for their holiday stories, you have to decide if they are real or not. Rebecca and Dany are real it’s the stories you have to decipher.

There are some changes coming in January for BBQ Nation and we will share those with you on next week’s show. Pay close attention as there will be a test later.

On Christmas eve there will not be a BBQ Nation show as KXL is playing Christmas music starting at 2:00 p.m. on the 24th until later on the Christmas Day the 25th. BBQ Nation will be back on New Year’s Eve day with a Best of BBQ Nation show.

This week on BBQ Nation TV star and world renowned chef Graham Kerr, The Galloping Gourmet joins JT for part one of a two part series. Graham not only had one of the first nationally/internationally syndicated TV cooking shows, he also has sailed the world ( a couple of times), written 20+ books, created hundreds of recipes and managed to keep his magical sense of humor along the way.

Graham and JT discuss everything from classical recipes to Christmas recipes and a variety of topics in between.

Also this week on BBQ Nation we congratulate Darcy Hearn from Aumsville and Tony Ashton from Camas on the photos of their culinary creations. Check out our Facebook page for the photos.

913 BBQ with David and his wife were awarded the Grand Championship in the Invitational at this year’s Royal in Kansas City.

David and his wife turned this into a bit of a Cinderella story, as they have only been competing for a couple of years.

With the BBQ competition year pretty much wrapped up for this season, it’s time to catch up with some of the big winners. Today on the nation we will be joined by Rick Hamilton, The Open Reserve Champion, at this year’s Royal in Kansas City. Rick and his sons Tyre and Justin form the team, Montana Outlaw BBQ. They scored big at the Royal and took home, back to Montana, a good sized check among other prizes. We get the who what where how and why Rick and his family got involved in competitive BBQ.
