If you are looking for something uplifting and positive to focus on during the COVID-19 pandemic then you don't want to miss this interview.
Joel Salatin, the Lunatic Famer, joins Dr. McCullough to discuss how COVID-19 is affecting our food supply as well as our food freedom. This interview is all about SOLUTIONS - from how you can start building a robust microbiome to become more resilient in the face of disease to how you can reclaim freedoms you may not know you have lost.
About Joel Salatin:
Joel and his family operate Polyface Farm in Virginia. Beginning in 1961 the family developed soil building and water-enhancing protocols to grow pastured livestock including beef, pork, chicken, turkey, duck and sheep. The farm direct markets to individual families, restaurants, and institutional dining services. Polyface Farm holds educational seminars, farm tours, day camps and events to encourage duplication and understanding.
Joel has authored 12 books (soon to be 13). He is the editor of the world’s premier pastured livestock publication, The Stockman Grass Farmer. Joel was also featured in the New York Times bestseller Omnivore’s Dilemma and award-winning documentary Food Inc.

Dr. Sina McCullough and Dr. Linley Dixon discuss the current loopholes in the organic label, including:
1. An animal is still considered "pasture-raised" even if that animal never steps onto grass or pasture. The animal can be raised on a concrete slab and still be labeled as "organic."
2. Hydroponics are allowed to be certified as "organic" even though the plant never touches soil and the major hydroponic growers are feeding the plants GMO soy.
Find out what Dr. Dixon and The Real Organic Project are doing to defend the integrity of the organic label and what you can do to help!
About Dr. Linley Dixon: Dr. Dixon is the Associate Director of the Real Organic Project. She holds a Ph.D. in Plant Pathology from the University of Florida. In addition, she held a 2-year post-doctorate with the USDA’s Systematic Botany and Mycology Laboratory where she studied fungal plant pathogens from around the world. Dr. Dixon also owns a vegetable farm in Colorado, where she markets her produce through a CSA, farm to school, and at farmers markets.
