Did you know that roughly 60% of your digestion does NOT occur in your gastrointestinal tract? It actually occurs in your brain! Join us for the Taste Test Challenge as we learn to use our senses to help our brains digest our food!
What do cowboys, skittles, meat and carbon have in common?
Find out as we chat with Rancher Glenn Elzinga, owner of Alderspring Ranch in Idaho. Mr. Elzinga uses a unique ranching style that involves real cowboys!
His ground beef was declared by Forbes Magazine ad the best burger you will ever eat. His ribeye was labeled "the best" by the Wall Street Journal. And, Dr. Oz cooked his ribeye on TV and said it was "incredible."
Mr. Elzinga's ranching style also proves that cows do not always contribute to climate change and can, in fact, be part of the solution. His ranch has a negative carbon footprint!

His name is Glenn Elzinga, owner of Alderspring Ranch in Idaho. Glenn utilizes a unique ranching style that involves cowboys and results in nutrient dense meat so flavorful it dwarfs any meat you will find in a grocery store.
Glenn's ranching style also proves that cows do not always contribute to climate change and can, in fact, be part of the solution.
If you live in America, you can order his meat online through his website:
www.alderspring.com
He sells regeneratively raised beef, lamb, chicken, and pork as well as cheese, butter, and even pet food.
Once you taste the difference, you'll have a hard time buying meat from a grocery store! : )
CAUTION: This podcast is NOT about whether or not it’s healthy to eat meat. This podcast is for anyone who eats meat and wants to help ensure they will continue to have access to meat.
I’m making this statement after receiving hate mail on this topic:
For years I have researched this topic in great detail and completely agree that some individuals do very well as vegans or vegetarians. However, scientific research and case studies also indicate that some individuals thrive when consuming moderate amounts of animal products IF sourced from ecologically-raised animals. In other words, both sides of this discussion can find data to support their own conclusion.
My position on this topic is that it would be irresponsible and inaccurate for me to declare that one diet is right for everyone. We are all individuals and, therefore, have individual needs and requirements. I work with clients who do well as vegans, while other clients do just as well eating moderate amounts of ecologically-raised animal products. I do not pretend to know which diet is right for other people. Only you know what is right for your body. My goal is to help people tap into their innate abilities so they can communicate with their own bodies to determine their unique individual needs. For instance, my diet varies based on my body’s needs in that moment. Overall, my body usually prefers a vegan-based diet for roughly 2-3 days and the following day my body wants to eat a small amount of meat, similar in size to a condiment. That works for me. It won’t work for everyone because, again, we are all individuals. Consequently, instead of outsourcing the decision to “experts,” I encourage each person to learn how to listen to their own bodies to find the answer that works for them.
Having said that, IF you eat meat and would like to learn about one solution for curtailing meat shortages, please continue reading.
A meat shortage is coming, beyond what we are already experiencing. But there's a solution! And, we need your help to make it work!

Today I’d like to discuss how to create a robust microbiome using emotions. This topic is critical given the current climate in the world, especially in terms of the COVID-19 situation. This pandemic has brought to light the need for each of us to build our own healthy, robust immune system. And, a large part of having a robust immune system is having a robust microbiome.
At the same time, the COVID-19 situation has also brought fear, anxiety, worry, and other undesirable emotions that are leaving many of us in a chronic state of stress. But, even before this pandemic happened, most of us were in a chronic state of fight or flight every day, we just didn’t realize it. That’s not good because holding onto those emotions keeps you in a chronic state of stress and we know that chronic stress contributes to the development of all sorts of diseases, such as: depression, diabetes, cancer, autoimmune diseases, osteoporosis, and every other chronic or inflammatory disease you can imagine.
Consequently, it’s critical for your own health and wellness to learn how to process and release those emotions. So, today, I’d like to focus on emotional stress and how to manage negative emotions to help you build a more robust microbiome.

Earlier this week I talked with Joel Salatin to get a farmer’s perspective on how COVID-19 is affecting farms. Today I’d like to discuss how the COVID-19 situation is affecting restaurants. Instead of relying on headlines and news reports, I went directly to the source by reaching out to the co-founder of Organic Krush, Michelle Walrath. In this interview, Michelle provides innovative solutions to help restaurants survive and customers thrive during this challenging time.
Michelle is an inspiring leader in the health and wellness movement. She co-created several documentaries including: Fed Up, GMO OMG, and The Devil We know. As a life-long health advocate and mother of 4 children, Michelle was frustrated about the severe lack of healthy options on the go. She realized that parents were left with the choice of spending hours preparing food, or settling for fast food that left them feeling tired, sluggish, and weighed down.
So, Michelle co-create Organic Krush, an ALL organic lifestyle eatery with options ranging from organic breakfast to family dinners and even fully catered meals! With 6 Organic Krush locations, including Virginia and New York, Michelle is a leader in the wellness and fast food market.
