It was an ordinary Friday for Maia Watkins - until it wasn't. She was in the shower and felt a blow to her head. Someone had hit her over the head with a hammer - or did they? It wasn't a break-in. It was a brain haemorraghe. A synchronicity of events meant that the ambulance arrived just in time - two minutes later and she would not have made it.
Maia talks about the after-math in hospital, learning to rebuild her life again. Learning to walk again.
Maia can be found on instagram @maiatrueliving and her incredible poetry @thedressingownpoet.
