  • 284. Healing The Trauma of SILENCE AND FAMILY SECRETS

In this episode, we delve into the profound impact of silence and family secrets on everything! and particularly your future relationships. Michelle’s childhood was marked by prolonged episodes of silence whenever she asked a difficult question or did something that was deemed wrong. These silences often lasted for days, creating an environment of tension and loneliness.

Michelle reveals that her family harbored tightly held secrets she only discovered later in life, including a hidden child and an entire secret family history. Growing up with a parent who keeps secrets teaches you to never ask questions. That lack of open communication and connection with a parent can leave a lasting impact and de-values who you are. Michelle discusses how growing up in silence creates a deep craving to be seen and heard, which can lead us into toxic and damaging relationships. The desire to be loved and acknowledged above all else, often stems from these unmet emotional childhood needs.

Join us as we explore the devastating long-term consequences of family secrets and the silence that surrounds them.
