Tawny and Lisa discuss the New York Times article linked below, advocating for offering paths to recovery other than Alcoholics Anonymous, in which a Higher Power is a central concept. Lisa talked about her experience with being directed toward AA and the “take what you need, leave the rest,” mentality. They are grateful that alternative programs like SMART Recovery, She Recovers, Monument, and The Luckiest Club, and others, giving people choices to find what’s right for them. They also discuss the concept of “powerlessness.” And the fact that Bill W., the founder of AA, was a fan of LSD!

Music Minute features REM, Ariana Grande, Lil Nas X, and “Spirit in the Sky.”
