Nik Gowing is a renowned British TV journalist, foreign affairs specialist, presenter and conference moderator who’s been coming to Bled for many years. He shares his experience interviewing world leaders and asking difficult questions, communicating with the public that seems to be leaning more and more toward populists, navigating the polluted information space of today and his project Thinking the Unthinkable.

Evropska komisija je 5. julija objavila letno Poročilo o stanju pravne države. Ocenili so razmere na področju pravosodnega sistema, protikorupcijskega okvira, pluralnosti medijev ter drugih institucionalnih vprašanj, povezanih s sistemom zavor in ravnovesij.
O vladavini prava na področju medijev so razpravljali Audrius Perkauskas, generalni direktorat Evropske komisije za komunikacijska omrežja, vsebine in tehnologijo, prof. dr. Matej Avbelj, profesor za evropsko pravo na Novi univerzi, dr. Barbara Rajgelj, soustanoviteljica Pravne mreže za varstvo demokracije, Lenart J. PROF. DR. ROMAN KUHAR – Sociolog in raziskovalec, redni profesor na Oddelku za sociologijo Filozofske fakultete Univerze v Ljubljani. Raziskovalno se ukvarja z vprašanji diskriminacije, človekovih pravic, državljanstva in politikami enakosti.
Sodeloval je v več domačih in mednarodnih raziskovalnih projektih in izdal več knjig, med drugimi tudi Anti-gender Campaigns in Europe: Mobilizing against Equality, za katero je prejel nagrado ARRS Odlični v znanosti 2018. Med leti 2017 in 2021 je bil dekan Filozofske fakultete UL, trenutno pa je pridruženi urednik pri reviji Social Politics (Oxford University Press) in predsednik Slovenskega sociološkega društva.

Bilanca vojne v Ukrajini so stotisoči mrtvih in ranjenih, več kot osem milijonov ljudi je razseljenih, ocenjujejo, da je porušenih 150.000 stanovanjskih stavb, 300 bolnišnic in 3000 šol. Po Ukrajini beležijo za vsaj 140 milijard škode. Rusija je najbolj sankcionirana država na svetu.

DOC. DR. JELENA JUVAN – Predavateljica na FDV, Katedri za obramboslovje. Strokovnjakinja za evropsko varnost in varnostne politike EU.
MIHA LAMPREHT – Po diplomi na Pravni fakulteti se je leta 1981 kot novinar zaposlil na Radiu Slovenija. Od leta 1989 do 1996 je bil dopisnik RTV SLO v Moskvi, prvi dve leti tudi za Delo. Sicer je bil tudi programski direktor javnega radia v obdobju 2003 do 2006 in od jeseni 2010 do pomladi 2019. Več mandatov je bil v EBU radijskem odboru. Vseskozi je objavljal in pisal na temo Rusije in postsovjetske geopolitike. Prevedel je nekaj knjig iz ruščine v slovenščino, med njimi Zadnje zapise Ane Politkovske. S plezanjem v skali še vedno preskuša tudi svoj vertikalni instinkt in igro gravitacije.

More than a year separates us from the European parliamentary elections 2024. We talk to Stephen Clark, director for the European Parliament Liaison offices, about preparations already underway. STEPHEN CLARK – V Evropskem parlamentu deluje že 31 let. Delal je s parlamentarnimi odbori, v osrednji vodstveni vlogi v uradu generalnega sekretarja in na področju komuniciranja od leta 2006. Tedaj je postal vodja parlamentarne skupine za digitalno komuniciranje, ki je opravila pionirsko delo na področju uporabe socialnih medijev s strani institucij EU, trenutno pa je direktor, odgovoren za pisarne Evropskega parlamenta v državah članicah EU, za širše javno komuniciranje in za komunikacijske kampanje, dogodke in prostore za obiskovalce Parlamenta.

DR. AUBREY PARIS – Policy Advisor on Gender, Climate Change & Innovation in the Secretary’s Office of Global Women’s Issues (S/GWI) at the U.S. Department of State. There she leads policy and public diplomacy efforts related to the nexus of gender and climate change. As part of her portfolio, she launched the Innovation Station initiative to amplify the impact of woman and girl innovators developing translatable solutions to climate-related challenges, while simultaneously drawing subnational connections between domestic and international communities. The initiative includes development of an international network, virtual event series, quarterly newsletter, and weekly podcast.
