Today we're going to be talking about healing from sexual trauma, with the incredibly wise Dr. Thema Bryant. We know that the rates of women and non binary people who've experienced sexual violence are terrifyingly high and post MeToo movement, we have an increased awareness of the problem, but today we’re focusing on finding joy, finding safety in community, and finding yourself after trauma.
Although we will be talking about the subject generally, we won't be going into details of specific incidents or types of assault. And with that said, if the subject is too raw, then please do have a listen to one of the other episodes of Exactly.
Dr. Thema is incredible. She is a minister, a psychologist, a professor, a sacred artist and host of the podcast Homecoming. Her latest book: Homecoming- Overcome Fear and Trauma to Retain Your Whole Authentic Self publishes this March and we can’t wait to read it.
Before you listen today we want to take a minute to say that if you’ve experienced trauma, whatever happened to you was not your fault. We hope this episode is as comforting as it is informative. Be kind to yourselves.

In the second episode of our sex mini-series Floss chats to Megan Barton-Hanson, model and former resident of the Love Island villa. Since her saucy season, Megan has proudly lived her life as her authentic self. She has spoken out against slut-shaming with dignity, faced critics of her cosmetic surgery with her head held high and wore Floss’ “Stop Valuing Women Based On Their Sexual History” t-shirt on day time TV.
Megan is a bisexual icon and today she and Floss discuss the misogyny women face when they are sexual in the public eye, the distinct differences between dating men and women and the erasure that accompanies bi-sexuality. They also dive deep into the nuances of “straight-passing”, discuss why it’s pointless trying to please everyone, and answer your baby queer questions! So kick back in your docs, go post a thirst trap on instagram - because it’s your body and the haters can keep their shit in their shit bubble over there.
