This week we talk to the incredible Anneke Grogan. Annie is a Masters Psychology graduate and here to carry on the conversation about body image as an expert from last week. Annie studied in America on an athletics scholarship at SMU, and later pursued and completed her masters in NZ. Her Masters was on a topic that many runners can relate to - “You don’t look like a runner”. Annie’s masters looks into the psychology behind why that statement and other factors impact female runners so deeply and can drive body image issues, disordered eating and much more.

This episode Lydia and Esther speaks to the amazing Jessica Emily Quinn. Jess lost her leg to cancer at just 9 years old after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma. Jess went through a rare surgery called a rational plasty - a surgery where the middle part of the leg is removed and the lower leg is reattached at the thigh, but rotated 180 degrees. Her ankle joint now functions as the new knee joint. Jess has spent the last 20 years working through the changes in her body, her confidence in herself and more recently, has been challenged again, with a diagnosis of endometriosis.
