Today I’m coaching a caller who is working through betrayal and lack of trust with a family member and is seeking ways to release the anger, frustration, and pain. We often think that forgiveness means we are somehow saying what happened is okay. I help this caller reframe forgiveness as energetically detaching from the negativity of the situation in order to create a new portal toward healing.
I also share some tactics to help find forgiveness, such as acknowledging our humanity in order to see someone else’s humanity. This isn’t an easy or quick solution, but it does start to guide us toward our humanness and open us up to the idea of forgiveness. I recommend this caller to drop into a meditation to consistently work through triggers and stuck emotion. As a bonus, I share my full forgiveness visualization meditation at the end of our call.
Our work affects the healing in our body. When we release what doesn’t serve us, we free ourselves from the negative energetic connection and can then find new, healthy places to send that energy in support of a higher version of ourselves.
IN THIS EPISODE, WE TALK ABOUT:
- (4:26) The trap of believing forgiveness means being okay with a situation
- (7:32) How to see acknowledge our humanity to see another’s humanity
- (10:35) Why the work is about lessening the energy toward what caused us pain
- (14:46) A 10-minute forgiveness visualization meditation
