Was it for financial freedom, freedom of time or because you simply don't like being told what to do?
Whatever your reason, one of the advantages of starting a business and becoming a business owner is that you can create wealth. You can generate as much income as you want, and it can come through your business.
An important question is:
Are you self-employed or are you a business owner?
Because there is a difference, and this difference has a big impact on whether you achieve the goals you set out to meet in the first place.
And, if the money side of your business is worrying you, it's definitely possible to put those worries to rest and never lose sleep over money again.
Take Charge TodayIn this interview with Kim Kiyosaki, a world-renowned speaker, entrepreneur and author of Rich Woman: Take Charge of your Money: Take Charge of Your Life!, you'll learn the difference between being self-employed and being a business owner — and why it matters.
Hear Kim talk about why women-owned businesses grow slower than those owned by men and what you can do to accelerate your business growth.

When we play the comparison game in business, it only leads to frustration and disappointment.
So what can you do to stay mentally strong when self-doubt creeps in?
Any time we step outside of our comfort zone, we are vulnerable to failure, to criticism, to falling flat on our face.
These feelings are made worse when we also start comparing our success and our progress with that of others.
We look at someone's successful sales promotion and maybe we feel bad about our sales.
We look at their gazillion followers they have on social media and feel horrible about our small audience.
We see them getting opportunity after opportunity and deem ourselves not as good.
What's wrong with me? We might ask.
Or, maybe we feel great for them.
We are happy to celebrate their success.
And while we are celebrating them, we still ask: "Why can't I have that level of success?"
If you've felt that way, you're not alone.

Maybe you created a great plan for this year.
Maybe you were one of the business owners who, like me, made grand plans, mapping out the whole year's activities and promotions.
Maybe COVID 19 turned things upside down for you.
The live event that you were doing has been postponed or cancelled.
Your piano-teaching school or your yoga studio had to close down for a while.
You've had the kids at home and so it's been hard to focus on anything.
I think we are all going to be stronger and better for what we've recently experienced.
Our capacity and abilities as businesswomen expanded.
Now, it's time to start to dream about what we want business to look like the next six months.
If we wait till all restrictions are lifted we'll be late off the blocks.
So today is the day to start making some new plans.
And, I have some tips for you.

If you feel like you're spinning in circles because you're worried about declining sales, staff turnover or unhappy customers, and you're trying to address everything at once—STOP.
You're simply NOT going to be able to fix all these problems at the same time. Instead, you need to work out what issue to focus on first.

How do you work out which problem to start with?

Or, if you had better social media skills, how it'd be so much easier to make sales.
Or, if you had the right contacts, how doors would open up so much faster for you?
I get it.
The problem with this way of thinking is that it can get us stuck.
In this episode, Suzi Dafnis talks about not letting what 'could be' stopping us from doing the best we can what we can with what we already have.

Fear can leave you feeling stuck and unable to take the next step in your business, and in your life.
So, what do you do? Do you wait until the fear has gone? Do you keep doing the things that keep you small because that's where you feel comfortable?
The truth is, the fear may not go away, but you can definitely take control of it and still achieve your goals.
Fear is NOT the boss of you
In this interview with Jennifer Allwood, you'll discover how to acknowledge your feelings of fear and just do stuff anyway.
"We have a responsibility to show up for our life and do the things that we both want to do and feel called to do." — Jennifer Allwood

Something that you love doing, that you're really good at and that you just can't stop helping others with?
This is your unique value.
It's the gift, the talent and the knowledge that you can use to make a difference in the lives of others. And, you can turn it into a business that makes money without needing to be pushy or salesy.
For so many women, the thought of pursuing sales can be so overwhelming that they don't make that leap. You don't ask for the sale, or you bungle the opportunity sometimes undervaluing what you do, or not making a compelling offer.
But instead of pursuing sales, what if I told you that you could invite pursuit?
You can package up your expertise, the thing you're really known for, and turn it into a profitable business that you love.

And something interesting is happening to every single one of us.
And, that is that the chinks in our armour are showing.
These chinks don't matter too much when times are good.
When the money is flowing.
When customers are plentiful.
When the sun is shining on our business.
But, when the economy gets turned around.
Or what used to work no longer works.
Perhaps we are forced to close the doors on our store.
Or we are forced to cancel that live event.
Or to stop treating clients face to face.
Or to look for new revenue streams.
The chinks become gaping holes that leave us feeling very vulnerable.
Our Achilles heel becomes exposed.
Many business owners who were working from home anyhow, now have the added pressure of not having access to their usual services, or they have kids at home that require homeschooling, partners at home that are also trying to work. The chinks can feel really big - like craters.
In this episode, Suzi Dafnis looks at the chinks that are showing up most commonly and how to take actions towards repairing them and creating new possibilities for you and your business even if right now the future seems unclear.
