Being a good mom doesn’t mean staying calm all. the. time. It doesn’t mean we’re never disappointed, frustrated, overwhelmed, or annoyed.
In fact, I felt all these things during a family vacation flop this week, and it made me realize that we need to normalize moms feeling and expressing our full range of emotions.
A regulated nervous system doesn’t shield us from pain, anger, or disappointment. However, it can help us not get stuck in these emotions.
So, if being calm isn’t necessarily the goal, what is the point of having a regulated nervous system? Listen in as Michelle shares how improved neurological fitness helps us grow our window of tolerance to be able to handle more of what life throws at us without becoming dysregulated.

Ever feel like you’re spending more time surviving than thriving? We all have seasons where just making it through the day is a big win.
But the more we understand the science behind why we feel stuck in survival mode, the more we can make a conscious decision to move from surviving to thriving.
Your body remembers what your mind forgets. The body is like a library, filing away all our different life experiences to best keep us safe. And now, when your nervous system perceives anything that resembles a prior pain-point, it can send you into a stress response that subconsciously has a huge impact on your life.
Listen in as Michelle explains 5 signs you’re living in survival mode. You might have been living in some of these survival modes for so long, you’ve begun to think they’re just a part of your personality – don’t miss this opportunity to grow in awareness!

We know the scene – everyone’s driving you crazy, you’re trying your best not to lose it, so you pause and take a deep breath.
But what if that deep breath doesn’t seem to make much of a difference? What if you’re still aggravated, annoyed, frustrated, and upset - and you wonder if breathwork just doesn’t work for you.
In today’s episode, Michelle coaches on how certain types of breathing can actually activate our sypathetic nervous system – the part of our body that amps up for the action of fight or flight. When we activate our sympathetic nervous system with breath, it can actually make all our big feelings even bigger.
Listen in as Michelle teaches about the mistakes you might be making when you use breath to regulate your nervous system, and what to do instead so that breathwork can be a powerful tool to help calm your body when you need it.

You've built a full life. The career, the family, the responsibilities, the goals — all of it.
And the fuller it gets, the more stretched thin you feel.
Not…
But because your nervous system was never upgraded to match the life you've built.
High Capacity is the podcast for ambitious women who are done just managing their stress and are ready to actually expand what they can hold.
Hosted by trial attorney turned nervous system strategist Michelle Grosser, each episode unpacks the nervous system science behind why you feel maxed out, reactive, and depleted — and gives you real tools to expand your capacity across every area of your life.
This isn't just about doing less.
It's about becoming someone whose nervous system can hold more — more joy, more presence, more of the life you've worked hard to build, and more of the demands that come with it — without the low-grade stress that's become your new normal.
Here’s what you’ll learn:
- How to expand your emotional, stress, physical, relational, and joy capacity
- Nervous system-based tools that work in real life, in real time
- How to identify your Capacity Pattern — the specific strategy your nervous system defaults to when you're overwhelmed — and what it means for your stress, your relationships, and your daily life
New episodes every Tuesday and Friday.
Tuesdays bring the nervous system science and tools.
Hi-Cap Fridays give you one practical move to expand your capacity in the week ahead.
