Our habits create our life, right? We are the sum of what we repeatedly do. And the same is true for our nervous system – if our habits nourish a regulated nervous system, we’ll reduce anxiety.
But sometimes we have habits – things we’ve been doing forever without really thinking much about it – that are causing stress and dysregulation in our nervous system which can lead to anxiety.
In today’s episode, I coach on 3 habits that are likely making your anxiety worse, and then we’ll talk about 3 habits that help calm your mind and body.

There’s a difference between actually resting and being stuck in the dorsal vagal state –the state where we’re dissociated, disconnected, and spaced out. And sometimes it can be hard to know that difference.
We can catch ourselves binging Netflix, scrolling social media, and staring at screens thinking we’re “resting” – but do those activies actually allow our bodies to re-charge and re-energize?
In today’s episode, I coach on what’s happening in your body when you actually rest, versus what’s going on when you’re in a dissociated state.
We close this episode out with 3 powerful ways to recharge yourself – mind, body, and soul to allow your nervous system to rest and reset.

What are you tolerating that you know isn’t serving you well? Maybe it’s your harsh inner critic. Is it mom guilt? Or how about that pit in your stomach when you catch yourself comparing?
In today’s episode, I share 4 self-care boundaries that made a huge difference in the state of my nervous system and my mental, emotional, and physical health. I’m not talking about one-offs like a mani-pedi or a weekend getaway.
I’m teaching you 4 self-care boundaries I put into place that transformed my life. Boundaries that protect my peace and alignment. Boundaries that significantly reduce my anxiety and overwhelm and ensure I’m caring for my mind, body, and soul.
P.S. Don’t miss #4 – it’s so freeing!

Yet, as we grow in awareness and healing, we can leverage our childhood experiences to show up more powerfully in motherhood.
Today’s guest, Emmy Brunner, is a psychotherapist, personal empowerment and transformation coach, hypnotherapist, and author. You've built a full life. The career, the family, the responsibilities, the goals — all of it.
And the fuller it gets, the more stretched thin you feel.
Not…
But because your nervous system was never upgraded to match the life you've built.
High Capacity is the podcast for ambitious women who are done just managing their stress and are ready to actually expand what they can hold.
Hosted by trial attorney turned nervous system strategist Michelle Grosser, each episode unpacks the nervous system science behind why you feel maxed out, reactive, and depleted — and gives you real tools to expand your capacity across every area of your life.
This isn't just about doing less.
It's about becoming someone whose nervous system can hold more — more joy, more presence, more of the life you've worked hard to build, and more of the demands that come with it — without the low-grade stress that's become your new normal.
Here’s what you’ll learn:
- How to expand your emotional, stress, physical, relational, and joy capacity
- Nervous system-based tools that work in real life, in real time
- How to identify your Capacity Pattern — the specific strategy your nervous system defaults to when you're overwhelmed — and what it means for your stress, your relationships, and your daily life
New episodes every Tuesday and Friday.
Tuesdays bring the nervous system science and tools.
Hi-Cap Fridays give you one practical move to expand your capacity in the week ahead.
