David Landau has been an exercise practitioner since 1978 and is often regarded as one of the top HIT trainers on the planet. From 1978 – 1984, he ran two successful YMCA Nautilus programs in Ohio and Pennsylvania. Moved to Florida in 1984 and managed exercise clubs and instructed private exercise before going exclusively solo in 2000. His present business Advanced Exercise offers high tech training in all phases of HIT/Nautilus Protocol. Over the years, Landau has amassed one of the largest exercise archive collections in the country, stimulated by doing extensive personal historical research. He has written several controversial articles as a result and is presently in the process of writing his first book exposing the major Fraud that goes on in the mainstream of exercise.
David's articles on exercise and diet expose can be found at ExerciseFraud.com. You can contact David at Exarchives [at] AOL.com
David's history of being brash and outspoken on training and nutrition has turned him into a controversial figure in health and fitness. In this interview, David and I dive into several controversial health and fitness topics such as his disdain towards the Paleo and raw food diets and his concern with a one-size fits all approach to HIT.
David is worth listening to solely for his impressions of Arthur Jones. They are hilarious. I enjoyed talking to David and I found his perspective to be refreshingly different. There are some precious gems to be collected from this conversation. Don't miss out!

Andy Magness is a husband, father, recreational philosopher, occasional adventurer, part-time athlete, race director, youth philanthropist, and author.
Andy is a rock climber turned ultra endurance fanatic and pushes his mind and body to it's limits. I don't think he'll mind me saying that I think he's borderline crazy as illustrated and reinforced by his impressive Race Resume.
To prepare for this podcast, I set aside some time to read through his website and resources. I was so impressed with his Ultra Mental Book that I devoured it one sitting. I thought it was beautifully written, funny, authentic and very practical.
Andy has an MA in physics, and due to a growing list of responsibilities, he decided to put his scientific brain to work to figure out how he could continue to participate in adventure races whilst significantly reducing his training volume. Andy stumbled across HIIT (high intensity interval training) and found that he could train for 1-3 hours a week (typically just 1 hour a week!) and reduce his risk of injury, improve his performance and make more time for his other responsibilities and past times.
Andy's story and race performances are a powerful testimony for the efficacy of high intensity training and how it can be applied to prevent injury, increase training efficiency, and get better results. It's refreshing to hear about the productive application of HIT outside the world of body building. Andy's work has shown that appropriate physical conditioning (like HIT or HIIT) can serve as the foundational training program for many athletic pursuits.

John Little's resume is prolific. Alongside Dr Doug McGuff, he is the co-author of Body By Science and author of Max Contraction Training (to name a couple) and is considered to be one of the world's foremost authorities on Bruce Lee, his training methods, and philosophies. John is the only person authorised to review the entirety of Lee's personal notes, sketches, and reading annotations and to edit books on his behalf. Some of his notable works include The Warrior Within: The Philosophies of Bruce Lee and The Art of Expressing the Human Body.
Body By Science was a very pivotal book in my health and fitness journey and it was a real honour to have John on the show. He was a very humble guest and gave me a unique perspective on multiple aspects of high intensity training and health and fitness in general.
A recurring theme in this interview is the health and fitness industry and its relentless drive to leverage mass media to manufacture the desire for people to be muscular, ripped, and attractive. It does this because it wants to continue to profit, and after all, as John said in this interview, it's hard to turn a dollar on being well hydrated and having good genetics.
"Why is our existence defined by how big someone's arm is?" - John Little
In the pursuit of bigger muscles, it's easy to forget the bigger picture, and that is the vast number of benefits stimulated by effective exercise. In this interview, John and I discuss this philosophical problem and the biological laws that govern it, Bruce Lee's influence, training protocols, and the wisdom shared by body building legend, Mike Mentzer.

Steve Maxwell was the first man to teach kettlebell classes in the US, trains professional athletes from the Phillies, Dodgers, and Eagles, and was the first american to earn a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu from Relson Gracie. Steve holds a Masters Degree in Exercise Science, owned and operated Maxercise Gym in Philadelphia for 16 years, and is a huge advocate of HIT as part of a comprehensive exercise regimen.
At 62, Steve is a physical specimen, and is a testament to how the human body can look, feel, and function in later life. Steve has learnt from some of the greatest health and fitness pioneers of the last century. He's been mentored by Dr Ellington Darden, Ken Hutchins, Arthur Jones, and Mike Mentzer.
Steve Maxwell is remarkable; he is a homeless and wondering nomad who carries everything he needs in a modest back pack whilst he travels the globe sharing his health and fitness wisdom. Ever since I saw Steve on London Real, he's been a big inspiration to me, and I hope he can be the same for you.

Roger Schwab founded Main Line Health & Fitness (MLHF), a HIT facility based in Philadelphia, and is often quoted as being one of the finest fitness experts in the US. Roger is a best-selling author, the first strength and conditioning coach at Pennsylvania State University, and was the former international federation of body builders head judge between 1977-82 judging 5 Mr & Ms. Olympia contests.
Having been a head judge during Arnold Schwarzenegger's Mr Olympia reign, Roger is no spring chicken. Boasting a muscular physique and maintaining ~10% body fat year-round, Roger is a testament to the health benefits of properly performed high intensity strength training.
Roger had a vey close relationship with HIT legend Arthur Jones. We dig into some of Roger's fondest memories of Arthur, his attitude towards life and his impact on exercise today. We talk about Roger's HIT protocols at MLHF, how he got into HIT, and how he helps his clients get maximum results.

I was super stoked to have Ben Greenfield on the Corporate Warrior podcast. I've been listening to his podcast Ben Greenfield Fitness (one of the top podcasts on health in iTunes) for some time, and it's kind of a dream come true to get him on my show.
Ben is a New York Times Bestselling author with his book Beyond Training, an ex-body builder and Ironman triathlete. In 2008 Ben was nominated by NSCA as America's top personal trainer, and in 2013 and 2014, Ben was voted as one of the top 100 most influential individuals in health and fitness.
To be honest, I am just scratching the surface. I could dedicate a single blog post to Ben's bio and it would be a good word count! Needless to say, this man hustles and walks the walk.
In this episode, I challenge Ben on his exercise regimen, and in particular, his strength training. We discuss the pros and cons of high intensity strength training, diet, and Ben's fitness regime.
