The smear campaign can begin while you're in the relationship but most often occurs once there has been a breakup or divorce. The narcissist goes around town telling everyone horrible things about you. They go to your friends, family, co-workers...They go to their own friends, family and co-workers...They might smear you to your children and even strangers.

So what are you supposed to do? The lies are spread, people are believing it and you are left in the dust.
