The spring semester will be here soon! So, how do you develop your spring action plan?
In this episode, we’re discussing the three parts of your spring action plan. We talk about conducting a thorough needs assessment to gather information for the plan. This includes talking to administrators, hearing from teachers, visiting classrooms, and looking at data. Once you have those four pieces of information, you can turn them into focus areas and goals for your action plan. During the episode, you’ll hear how to use those goals to develop a plan for whole-school professional development (PD), differentiated support for PLC teams, and individual coaching work. You’ll also hear about aligning your goals with your teachers' needs and tiering teacher support. Plus, learn why it’s important to share your plan with your administration. Listen now to learn how to create a structured, effective action plan to improve teaching and learning in the spring semester.

In this episode, Dr. Kim Ramadan joins me to discuss reflecting on your fall semester of instructional coaching. We chat about how coaches should think differently about the upcoming spring semester than we did the fall semester. Dr. Ramadan explains how to gather information about our past semester coaching work. She also offers different ways of thinking about our coaching work that will help us see things beyond our little bubble. Plus, we explore what goal setting looks like this time of year and whether we should adjust our previous goals or create new ones. Listen now to this episode about reflecting on your fall semester of instructional coaching!

Coaching teachers can be overwhelming, especially if we try to coach them all the same way! When we differentiate our work based on a teacher’s current needs, we make it much more meaningful!
This past semester, I worked with several coaches to apply strategies from my Instructional Coaching Strategy Toolbox to their work. Today, I invited one of these coaches, Gina Armstrong, to talk about her experience using the strategies and how it affected her coaching! During the podcast, we talk about the tools Gina used and which ones she found most impactful. We also discuss leveraging low-level strategies into higher-impact coaching work. Gina shares advice about what she learned and explains how using these different approaches allowed her to respond to teachers in more meaningful ways. Listen now to hear Gina’s Instructional Coaching Strategy Toolbox success story!
