She also chats openly about each breastfeeding journey, each babes issues with tongue tie and motherhood.Paula then brings me through her third experience with labour and birth and why the decision was made to bring her little boy into the world via emergency caesarean birth. She chats about the level of preparation she did throughout her third pregnancy both reading and using @gentlebirthofficial tracks to focus on what lay ahead. Despite this she felt she didn’t give enough time to the prospect of a caesarean birth but felt without the tools she gained her coping skills wouldn’t have been there. This episode has been brought to you by @waterfulbabywipesWaterful plastic free baby wipes contain 99.9% purified water and are both fragrance free and alcohol free. December 20, 2021EP87 - Caroline, Infertility, IVF, Twin Pregnancy, HELLP Syndrome, Emergency Caesarean BirthIn this next episode I share my chat with Caroline who talks me through her journey to conceiving twins. We chat about infertility, IVF, discovering she was pregnant and also early pregnancy. Although Caroline truly wanted a vaginal birth, at 32 weeks she surrendered to the fact she would likely birth her babies via Caesarean section due to breech presentation. Her pregnancy took a dramatic turn 5 weeks from the twins birth date leading to an emergency section.Caroline was diagnosed with HELLP syndrome which is a life-threatening pregnancy complication usually considered to be a variant of preeclampsia. Thankfully, mother & baby recovered well as delivery of baby is ultimately the treatment for this syndrome. Caroline was surrounded by such a supportive team of midwives, consultants & anaesthesiologists. They made an incredibly tough situation a little easier by the overall TLC she received. ps The second picture is their first nap together while a midwife looked on. So so special! Thanks for sharing Caroline ❤️This episode has been brought to you by @waterfulbabywipesWaterful plastic free baby wipes contain 99.9% purified water and are both fragrance free and alcohol free. We chat about the last two years of her life suffering multiple pregnancy losses and how she came to the decision to try once more to grow her family. I’m sure I’m not alone in feeling fully invested in Sinead’s pregnancy. I have followed her journey from the very beginning feeling so incredibly sad each time she suffered loss and joy with trepidation when she conceived once again. To see her bump grow was just amazing and hearing the excitement in her voice at the end of our chat was gorgeous. In our chat Sinead said “It’s a boy if I go early and a girl if I make it to my section date”……Sinead welcomed her beautiful, blonde, bouncing little boy on Monday. To be continued….. After several failed epidurals the decision was made to put Luca under a full general anaesthetic to preform the C-section. December 05, 2021EP83 - Doris, Two Pregnancies & Births, Induction, Caesarean Birth in New Zealand, VBAC in IrelandIn this next episode I share my chat with Doris who birthed her first baby in New Zealand. She talks us through the care system there, being induced and her boy being brought into the world via Caesarean birth. We then chat about her second pregnancy which although was planned still came as a surprise. Doris really wanted her VBAC (Vaginal birth after Caesarean) and that’s exactly how her little girl came into the world. She needed assistance during the final stages and later further assistance to ensure her uterus was contracting after baby was born. This part of her story is difficult to hear. November 24, 2021A Moment With - Aoife Harvey founder of Womens Health DublinI reached out to Aoife, founder of @womenshealthdublin to share her knowledge and fill us all in on the importance of going for even one assessment. We chat about the assessment itself, antenatal and postnatal pelvic floor awareness, correctly returning to fitness and using pelvic floor trainers.Below I have linked a website which you can use to find a women’s health physio in your area. If you can, please take the time to go for an assessment. Various health insurance providers cover part of the cost so make sure to check. Aoife made such a valid point, we need to sort these things now to stop us from suffering even more so in later years.Aoife Harvey - Womens Health DublinWomens Health Dublin IGIrish Society of Chartered PhysiotherapistsThis episode has been brought to you by @waterfulplasticfreeWaterful plastic free baby wipes contain 99.9% purified water and are both fragrance free and alcohol free.
