September 21, 2021A Moment With Lorraine LozanoIn this next episode I chat to Lorraine, the founder of Globebaby Doula. Lorraine is a full spectrum doula and has created various workshops to support her clients on their journey into motherhood. Due to her own experiences, Lorraine realised there was a very obvious need to support those about to embark on childbirth! She can help her clients with prepariton for labour, birth, breastfeeding and also help out at home with the seemingly simply tasks like light house work.We chat about a 3-Step-Rewind process that Lorraine offers, which can help lift heavy symptoms or thoughts linked with a difficult birth experience. So interesting and a tool so necessary at the moment. https://www.globebabydoula.comhttps://www.instagram.com/globebabydoula/ Produced & edited by Corah Gernon at She Talks ProductionsShow Your SupportBuy Me A CoffeePatreon Hosted on Acast. September 20, 2021EP72 - Amanda - Four Pregnancies, Two Births, Early Pregnancy Loss, Chemical Pregnancy, Forceps, Induction, Medication Free BirthIn this week's episode I share my chat with @amandarussellryan who talks me through her two experiences with birth. Amanda suffered an early pregnancy loss with her first pregnancy and later a chemical pregnancy on her third pregnancy. Amanda chats about the birth of son which was aided by forceps as he was a stargazer. She also lost a significant volume of blood which impacted her immediate recovery and those first few hours with baby. She recalls how she felt so supported by her medical team and speaks of them so fondly. She then dives into the details surrounding her induction and the birth of her little girl during the Covid restrictions. Amanda comments on how much support the general staff at the hospital showed her. As she paced the floors ,each person she passed, greeted her, had a little chat and just let her know they saw her.Although she didn't feel as supported by her medical team throughout her second birth experience, she still has such fond memories despite Covid threatening to get in the way.Enjoy & thanks for sharing AmandaThis episode is brought to you by @nukireland NUK have great products available from soothers for both breast and bottle-fed babies, right through to learning to eat. August 30, 2021EP69 - Tanja - Two Pregnancies & Births, Hospital Birth, Homebirth, Preparation for BirthIn this week's episode I share my chat with Tanja who talks me through her two pregnancies & births. Tanja came to Ireland as a student 18 years ago and fell pregnant with her little girl in her first year of college. Although she was supported by her friend she had a tough birthing experience. She was completely unaware of the birthing process and how her body would feel, she was petrified. Unfortunately, despite being so scared and alone, the hospital didn't support her as much as she felt she needed. Her second experience was poles apart. She chats to me about her recent homebirth and her level of preparation. She reads books, watched films and spent time connecting with baby in her tummy. Tanja was supported by midwife Caroline who made her feel comfortable, safe and capable. She was exactly what Tanja needed. A beautiful story, I can't wait for you to hear it. She talks us through how devasting it was but also the physical aspect. Her symptoms became increasingly severe and she spiked a temperature which was later associated with a sepsis diagnosis.
