Insomnia and sleep problems are a major issue in our culture, but did you know that women are more likely to experience poor sleep than men? The changes in female hormones through the menstrual cycle influence sleep patterns and may explain why sleep becomes more challenging for many women before or during their period.
Moreover, those with premenstrual syndrome (PMS) or premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) may be even more likely to experience PMS insomnia, fragmented sleep, and reduced sleep quality due to changes in hormone levels.

There’s tons of research that shows that backs this up. A healthy breakfast sets the stage for hormone balance throughout the day, which is critical for women at all stages of life.
On today's episode, Cody goes into it all. She talks about how to choose a hormone-loving breakfast and how to avoid breakfasts that are not supportive of our hormonal health.
As is the case with most nutrition topics, we hear a lot of different opinions. Thoughts on breakfast, are no exception. Some say breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Others say to skip or delay breakfast for intermittent fasting benefits.
Food companies promote quick, easy breakfasts like premade shakes, bars, and cereals. But as we'll get into, eating these types of meals as part of your daily diet can do more harm than good to your hormones.
Let’s get to the bottom of the breakfast debate and learn why switching up your breakfast routine might be the best thing you can do for your hormones!

Toxic thoughts, depression, anxiety-our mental mess is frequently aggravated by a chaotic world and sustained by an inability to manage our runaway thoughts. But we shouldn't settle into this mental mess as if it's just our new normal. There's hope and help available to us, and the road to healthier thoughts and peak happiness may actually be shorter than you think.
On today's episode Cody has invited the amazing, Dr. Caroline Leaf to be her guest.
Today you will learn:
Dr. Caroline Leaf is a communication pathologist, audiologist, clinical and research neuroscientist with a Masters and PhD in Communication Pathology and a BSc Logopaedics, specializing in psychoneurobiology and metacognitive neuropsychology. Since the early 1980s she has researched the mind-brain connection, the nature of mental health, and the formation of memory. She was one of the first in her field to study how the brain can change (neuroplasticity) with directed mind input.
During her years in clinical practice and her work with thousands of underprivileged teachers and students in her home country of South Africa and in the USA, she developed her theory (called the Geodesic Information Processing theory) of how we think, build memory, and learn, into tools and processes that have transformed the lives of hundreds of thousands of individuals with Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy (CTE), learning disabilities (ADD, ADHD), autism, dementias and mental ill-health issues like anxiety and depression. She has helped hundreds of thousands of students and adults learn how to use their mind to detox and grow their brain to succeed in every area of their lives, including school, university, and the workplace.

What does it mean to "age gracefully"? We want a future in which our lifespan is balanced with an extended healthspan, reduced illness, and age-related ailments to spend time with loved ones and maintain our independence well into our golden years.
In this episode, Cody and Dr. Mani Kukreja talk about how people of the same age can be so vastly different from one another regarding outcomes like energy levels, immunity, memory, productivity, functionality, personality, and especially physical appearance.
It starts by understanding “Agers,” or factors that affect how and when your body ages.
With simple interventions combined with powerful tools like ozone therapy, personalized supplementation, photomodulation, stem cell therapy, laser therapies, plasma-rich protein, hormone, and peptide therapy, we can decelerate cellular aging and supercharge our body’s ability to heal and rejuvenate.
Longevity is great, but longevity without vitality, immunity, a healthy mindset - well, that’s not so great!
Ultimately, we are not immortal, and eventually, we will all die. However, if we make the right choices, we can get many more vigorous and youthful years out of our life.
Dr. Mani Kukreja, is an integrative health expert and founder of LivAgeWell who helps clients optimize gut health, immunity, and healthy aging.

Are you living in a fog? Does your brain feel tired, and even everyday tasks are challenging because your brain isn’t cooperating with focus, thinking, and memory?
Brain fog is a common (but shouldn’t be considered a normal) symptom for women, especially during hormonal changes or with hormonal imbalances, as hormones play a vital role in brain health and function.
While a lot of the research on brain health has been done on men; it’s only recently that we are learning about the connection between female hormones and brain symptoms like brain fog.
In this episode, Cody covers the ins and outs of brain fog relating to the menstrual cycle and female hormones. She walks us through how to clear brain fog, naturally and effectively. Whether we are in menopause or if we are pregnant, or somewhere in between, she has got us covered.
