Itsvan “Steven” Javorek
Coach Javorek is the inventor of the Javorek Complexes. He was the Strength and Conditioning Coach at Johnson County Community College and Professor Emeritus. Under his tenure he was part of 5 National Championships, 78 Region 6 titles, 119 East Jayhawk Conference Championships and 63 teams finishing in top 5 National Championship play. Prior to JCCC Coach Javorek was at Texas A&M as the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach where he soon took over coaching field events and Track and Field Conditioning. In his home country of Romania, he was the National Weightlifting Coach before defecting to the United States. Coach Javorek’ s athletes are no strangers to the Olympic Podiums in 1984 he had a silver and bronze medalist in weightlifting, He helped with the South Korean Weightlifting Team overseeing the Coaches in Seoul. While in Texas he had the world’s fastest 200m sprinter, former 10,000m world record holder, the Canadian long jump record holder, the Mexican Triple Jump record holder, and the silver medalist shot put in the 88 Olympics who took Gold in the 96 Olympics. His other list of achievements in this profession would take hours to list.
