As we find ourselves at the end of another year, I find that some reflection on the lessons we've learned throughout it can be beneficial! It was a crazy year in my world both in good and hard ways, so I wanted to share a handful of the lessons that I learned in business and life with you to end out 2023. The older I get, the more I appreciate the time we have on this earth and the more desire I have to make the most of it. If that is you too, this is the episode for you.

You all have been asking this question this year, so I wanted to do a deep dive into what it's like to find a space to rent as a lash artist or beauty business owner! In my 9 years in the industry, I have worked in several different capacities including as a receptionist, booth rent, a salon suite, a w2 employee, from home, etc. And I've also rented from a few different landlords as well as toured several spaces. There are so many details that go into finding the right, long-term home for your beauty business, so my hope with this episode is that it helps you be thorough in your search and really understand what to be looking out for. Especially if it's your first time renting a space for your business, that can feel pretty exciting and nerve wracking, so I hope this helps you feel more prepared as you start your search!

You voted to hear about this on my IG stories, so here it is! On today's episode I told you the story of when a monsoon came through & flooded our lash studio while I was 7.5 months pregnant. It involves fires, floods, sinkholes, OSHA, the health department, & how the situation helped pull me out of burnout.

When we don't listen to our bodies & slow down when needed, we get put into situations where we are forced to take a break...and this situation was that for me. Although it was highly stressful, especially since I was so pregnant, I really learned a lot from it that helped shape my lash business to be more sustainable moving forward.
