  • 166. Operating From Abundance with Your Adult Children with Brooke Oniki

We all have dreams and expectations of the relationships we will have with our children when they become adults. But far too often, they don't follow the script we have for those dreams and we find ourselves feeling like the relationships we have with them are out of control and lacking in so many ways. Coach Brooke Oniki is on the podcast today to share how the relationships we have with our adult children can be abundant, full, and better than we ever dreamed in the first place. We just have to relax and be patient. We have to have faith in the relationship we built with them when they lived with us.

This is a very tender episode and as Heather will say, Brooke has a calming effect in the way she talks and presents herself that you come away feeling like everything is going to be just fine. And it truly is. If you want to develop and grow a great relationship with your adult children, be sure to reach out to Brooke and have her work with you.

  • 165. How to Be a Strong Woman Leader with Meg Tilton

President Russell M. Nelson has asked the women of the Church to rise to their potential and be a strong force for good not only in their homes but also in the Church and in their communities. But far too often women feel like they fall short and don't have what it takes to be an effective leader. Coach Meg Tilton is on the podcast today to talk about women leadership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and how all women already have leadership qualities, it's just a matter of recognizing them and using them in their own way to bless the lives of those they lead.

Meg is passionate about helping women in the Church rise to their fullest potential and she feels like when women recognize that they are meant to lead in their own way and do the work to discover what that is, they will be able to make the impart President Nelson is calling them to make.

This is a great episode and we hope you come away feeling uplifted and that you can make a difference. Please reach out to Meg if you would like to work on learning more about your innate leadership abilities and using them to bless those around you.

  • 164. Overcoming Codependency with Jane Copier

We all have the desire to be needed and in many ways we need each other for our comfort and survival but all too often we cross the line of being emotionally dependent on others in a way that is detrimental to all involved. This is a common occurrence with mothers in relation to their children. Coach Jane Copier is a coach who works with midlife moms and something that she sees a lot in her practice is women who have a codependency on their children for their own happiness. These moms find that they can only be happy if their children are happy. Jane is on the podcast today talking about why this is not healthy for either the mother or the child and how a mother can truly break free of relying on her children for her emotional state and well being.

This is a great episode and one that every mother needs to listen to if they feel that they do not have a healthy relationship when it comes to their emotions and their children's emotions. Learning to be free of emotional codependency is a great gift you can give yourself and your children so please listen to this episode and then reach out to Jane and have her help you start living an emotionally independent life.

  • 163. Finding Connection Through Vulnerability with Michele Gardemann

It goes against our natural instinct. The last thing we think will be effective in connecting to others is to expose our most vulnerable selves. And yet, vulnerability is the very thing that drives connection between ourselves and others. Coach Michele Gardemann is on the podcast today talking about how when she was finally willing to get vulnerable in her marriage, that is when she started to see more compassion from her husband and felt a greater connection to him.

Michele works with wives of bishops. She has a great perspective on the struggles that these women often feel and how they can be sure that the relationship with their husband does not suffer at the expense of his calling. It takes a lot of connection and vulnerability to maintain any relationship, but especially one that is under a lot of pressure.

If this is a struggle for you, we know you will find validation and understanding for your situation in this episode.

  • 157. 2023 Recap with Heather Rackham

We are told many times that if we read our scriptures, say our prayers, go to the temple, and magnify our callings, we will always be led and directed by our Heavenly Parents. But what if we are doing that and the heavens seem silent?

In this year's final episode of the 2023, Heather is reflecting back on her year and how it was a year that the heavens seemed very quiet. Instead of thinking something had gone terribly wrong, Heather shares the important lessons and purpose she has found in the quiet.

If you have had times in your life where you have felt like the heavens were quiet, then make sure to listen to this episode and reflect yourself on the reason perhaps why that happened and what your Heavenly Parents were trying to teach you.

As we close out 2023, we here at Latter-day Life Coaches, wish you a very Merry Christmas and look forward to bringing you more amazing coach interviews in 2024.
