Today I share about the art of receiving feedback. It took me a long time to understand that feedback actually comes from a supportive place. People that give you feedback want you to succeed and they are making a real effort to share this information with you. In this episode, I share my favorite framework to give and receive feedback. I learned this during a meeting facilitation training from Sarah Fisk at Community At Work.
I’ve always wanted to practice this feedback framework but it took a few years to find the right community to do it with. I share how I used this framework during a recent work retreat. It was such an amazing helpful tool. Giving and receiving feedback helps to clear the air with teams so you can work as a cohesive team where everyone’s needs are heard and met. Listen to the episode to understand the full feedback framework.

Gabby is a Women’s Life Coach who focuses on guiding women from being the backup dancers to the Beyoncé of their lives. She has been through it and she shares her rock bottom in this episode. I really enjoyed talking with her about the important topics like codependency, self-love, and turning inward when patterns start to occur. The word “hard” came up a lot during the interview and I really appreciate it. Because this work is not average. It’s certainly not easy. And I have found that the most rewarding things in my life come with doing something hard. And oftentimes the hard becomes easy as I get better at it. Tune in to hear more about this lively conversation.

This week we are talking about womanhood with the hosts of Cycle Chats podcast, Emily and Stephanie. They are a hilarious and down-to-earth duo that want to destigmatize being a woman. They share about how they met over pink lipstick and the inspiration behind their podcast. We talk about the biggest things that have integrated as woman including coming out as queer and overcoming abusive relationships. We finish with rapid-fire questions about their favorite body part, their favorite menstrual phase, and what keeps them going when things get tough. The conversation just flowed and I enjoyed every minute. Here’s to celebrating being a woman!

This week’s guest Shaleahia Hennix shares how to tap into your zone of genius in order to live the life you’ve always dreamed of. Shaleahia is an idea doula, transformational experience curator, and atmospheric alchemist cultivating a life at the threshold of purpose, pleasure, peace, passion, and prosperity.
Shaleahia goes deep sharing her own story about overcoming people-pleasing. We talk about her upbringing, recent relationships, her spirituality, and her past career as a sex worker. She is so inspiring. And my favorite part of the episode is when she shares a recent aha moment that related to the character Elsa in Frozen. Anything that relates to learning from a Disney movie is huge in my book!

It’s official. I’m pregnant. And these first four months have been a wild ride. From excitement to fear to nausea, I’ve felt it all. I recorded a few clips at different points in my pregnancy and put them all together for this episode. Join me during my giddy first week where I share how I told my husband the news. And my 8th week when nausea set in with a serious bout of vertigo. And again after my 12th week ultrasound where I discovered that I was still pregnant. It’s been a wild ride and I’m processing the grief of my miscarriage last year at each step of the way.

This week we’re spilling all the tea about sobriety with Ari Eastman. She is the host of the Sobrietea podcast. And she shares all the nitty-gritty about getting sober and what life is like on the other side. I haven’t spoken too much about my sobriety on the podcast. Not because I’m hiding it but because it has become so second nature to my life. We talk about the hangover shame cycle, the addiction cycle of alcohol, and the many benefits of living a sober life. Tune in if you’re sober curious or enjoying this path already.

Today we celebrate the gifts of an insecure attachment style. At the beginning of my healing journey, I used any new tool or framework including attachment theory as a way to guilt and shame myself for not being perfect or secure. It was yet another model that proved I wasn’t worthy. At the time I was unconsciously stuck in a guilt and shame addiction cycle. I used to think this guilt and shame helped me be a better person. Now I realize it was just old programming and that there are actually several gifts that come from being an insecure attachment type. I won’t give them all away here. You’ll just have to listen to learn what they are. And I hope it helps you celebrate your previous insecure attachment type.
