The Philadelphia Phillies fell to the Chicago Cubs 8-4 as the Phillies’ arms have up four total homers.  

Mick Abel made his shortest start since making his MLB debut back on May 18th. He lasted just four innings allowing three runs on six hits and three walks. All three runs came on solo homers. Abel needed 89 pitches on the day.

The Philadelphia Phillies snap their 5-game losing streak in DRAMATIC FASHION, beating the Cubs 4-3 in 11 innings!  

Brandon Marsh provided the walk off base hit with the bases loaded in the 11th inning.  

Zack Wheeler returned from his paternity leave to make his first start since his May 29th appearance against the Braves. He tossed six innings of one-run baseball. The only run came on a solo homer by Kyle Tucker in the 1st inning. Wheeler went on to throw 103 pitches allowing three hits, one walk while striking out seven.  

Phillies and Cubs play game two of this three game series Tuesday night at 6:45. Mick Abel starts against Colin Rea.

The Phillies get SWEPT out of Pittsburgh as they fall to the Pirates 2-1 marking their 10th loss in their last 13 games.  

Sanchez threw 7-plus innings and was charged for two runs on six hits and two walks. He started the 8th inning at 96 pitches then walked Oneil Cruz on four pitches. Orion Kerkering came in and allowed a broken bat RBI single to shallow right field.  

Similar to Ranger Suarez’ seven inning, two-run performance Saturday night, the Phillies bats could help their starter out. Brandon Marsh and Rafael Marchan were the only Phillies two record hits over Sanchez’ outing. Both of them came in the 3rd inning and resulted in the Phillies lone run of the game.  

Phillies start a three-game series with the Cubs Monday night at 6:45.

Phillies bats stay ICE COLD as they fall to the Pirates 2-1 despite an absolute GEM from Ranger Suarez!

The Phillies managed just four hits in the loss. Kyle Schwarber provided the Phillies ONLY run on a solo homer in the 1st inning. His 20th over the season.  

Ranger allowed just two runs, both earned over seven innings of work on five hits and one walk. He struck out five.  

Alec Bohm led off the 7th with a double to left/center field and then reached third on a wild pitch, but the Phillies failed to bring him home. Nick Castellanos struck out while JT Realmuto and Bryson Stott flied out.

The Philadelphia Phillies have lost seven-of-their-last-eight after falling to the Pirates, 5-4 in walkoff fashion.  

Jordan Roman again took the ball in the 9th inning. Three batters later, the bases were loaded with no outs and the score tied at four. After striking out ONeil Cruz, Nick Gonzales stepped to the plate and hit the game-winning sac fly to left field.  

Trea Turner continues to swing a hot bat. The Phillies’ shortstop went 3-for-5 with two RBIs.  

As a team, the Phillies went 3-12 with runners in scoring position.  

Bryce Harper missed the game with a wrist injury.  

The Phillies went with a bullpen game for this one. Joe Ross opened things up and threw two innings allowing one run on three hits. Then Tanner Banks took over and tossed one inning also allowing a run. Then 27-year-old Alan Rangel made his big league debut and allowed two runs on three hits.

Jesus Luzardo GOT ROCKED for the 2nd straight start as the Phillies fall to the Blue Jays, 9-1. The lefty has now allowed 20 earned runs over his last two starts.

The Phillies bats weren't much better as they mustered just one run for the second straight game. After their six-run first inning of game one of this season, the Phillies offense was able to get just four runners across the plate.
