Emma Watkins grew up wanting to be a ballerina. She’d watched dancers all her life on the TV, and on The Wiggles. But then she got injured, and that dream? Well, it went out the window.
So she went in search of something more, and little did she know that something more would see her become the first female Wiggle.
On this episode of No Filter we talk about everything from the backlash she faced at the announcement, her Endometriosis diagnosis, and what it’s really like to be one of the most recognised children’s entertainers in the country, and in fact...the world.

Caroline de Costa started studying medicine at Sydney University when she was just 16 years old, after a few years off and a baby in between, Caroline finished her medical degree in 1973. She decided she wanted to major in Obstetrics and Gynecology, but she wasn’t allowed. They wouldn’t let her…because it wasn’t a woman’s field. (Yes, that happened)
So Caroline packed her bags, her family, and headed for Ireland where they would train her. Seven children, 15 books and almost 50 years later, Caroline is one of Australia’s biggest medical trailblazers, and the first woman ever to become a professor of obstetrics and gynecology in Australia. She has a LOT of stories about birth and women’s bodies and she shares them on this episode of No Filter...

It was an ordinary day on the 30th of July, 1997 in Thredbo, but at 11:35pm the earth moved. Lives were changed and lost in just a few minutes. The Thredbo Landslide happened fast. It hit two ski lodges where 19 people were sleeping. It destroyed the buildings, ripped them off their foundations, and plunged those inside under tonnes of debris and concrete.
For the first two days, we were told that there would be no survivors. However, on the morning of the third day, 66 hours after he was buried, Stuart Diver was found alive. He was the lone survivor of one of the most famous tragedies in Australia’s history.

It was a child star factory that catapulted Dannii Minogue and Tina Arena onto the world stage and created the country’s first-ever teen heartthrobs. But to a generation of Australians, Young Talent Time was much more than a TV show. Join Johnny Young and the cast as they journey through the highlights of a glittering moment in Australian TV history- into the spandex-wearing, mullet-sporting musical spectacular of the 1970s and 80s.
This is the first episode of Extraordinary Stories: Young Talent Time, Australia's Child Star Factory. Episodes two and onwards, and all past seasons of Extraordinary Stories are available to stream now, exclusively to MPlus subscribers.

There’s a good reason why breakfast TV hosts are among the biggest celebrities in the country. It’s an intimate and long-term relationship. Lisa Millar is the host of Australia’s most popular breakfast show, ABC News Breakfast. She’s a Walkley Award-winning journalist who has covered some of the biggest news stories in the world, including terrorist attacks, mass shootings, and natural disasters.
When you’re doing three hours of live TV every day, unexpected things happen and you have to react instantly. You need to improvise and think on your feet. You can’t hide who you are when you’re streaming live on air for 15 hours every week, for years. But being a TV star is very new to Lisa - in ways that are both wonderful and incredibly difficult, even painful.

Zoe Terakes is 21 and they identify as non-binary and trans masculine. You would have seen Zoe on your screens or on the stage, maybe in the ABC’s Janet King, Wentworth, or more recently in 9 Perfect Strangers. You may have even caught their award-winning performance in A View From The Bridge.

September 11 2001 is etched in the minds of people all over the world. It changed the way we lived and traveled, fundamentally. But, it also gave us the story of a little town in Canada that did some pretty extraordinary things in the face of terror. A story that has been turned into a musical called Come From Away. But before it was a Broadway smash, it was the story of Beverley Bass, American Airlines' first-ever female pilot. And on this 20th anniversary of September 11, Beverley joins me from Texas to share it...

There’s a good reason why Ben Crowe is Australia’s most in-demand professional mentor and leadership coach.
Before he started his own business, called MojoCrowe, Ben worked in the ‘Just Do It’ team - helping Nike’s athletes work out who they are outside the sport they were famous for. He’s worked with everyone from Ash Barty, to Dylan Alcott, Andre Agassi, to Stephanie Gilmore. He’s worked with special Ops Forces, teenagers, world champions, and world leaders.
Ben’s all about helping people find a balance between confidence & happiness, and balancing achievement…with fulfillment.
It feels like we have never needed a mindfulness coach more than we do right now during this crazy time. So what advice can Ben give us?

Everyone has intrusive thoughts. But if you live with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder? Well, it becomes something much more extreme. You get stuck on your thoughts, and you can’t move past them. And you play those thoughts on a loop, like a broken record.
You’ve probably heard about OCD - although it’s widely misunderstood and misrepresented. But Relationship OCD is something you’ve probably never heard of. And it’s a type of mental ill-health that affects a surprising number of people.
On this episode of No Filter, Penny Moodie speaks very candidly, and vulnerably, about her experience with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Relationship OCD.
