The Waiting Room on Dublin Talks: Sleep
Every week on Dublin Talks we have your medical questions answered in The Waiting Room.
Dr Sharon Delaney is on hand to give expert advice and tips on any issues you may have.
Here's this week's topics:
Can you raise this question with the doctor please. It’s about the prostate exam. I’m too embarrassed to speak to someone about it. I’m 38 now. Can you tell me if that is the right age to go for an exam? And does it have to be a physical exam. I’m very nervous about the whole thing but its important to me because I lost my father to prostate cancer. Also am I more likely to get it because it’s in the family? Kevin in Santry
My 6-year-old daughter has asthma. Can you please ask Sharon what are the effects if any, of using an asthma preventer long-term? I heard that using it for years might have medical side effects . From Jackie
I’ve a question for your doctor. About sleep. How much sleep would she recommend for a 30 year old adult. I only get 6 hours most nights and not sure if it’s enough. Also can you please ask her if naps during the day (like for an hour) make any difference. Amy from Dundrum
