In this discussion, we explore whether partners enable addictive behaviors in relationships affected by addiction. We note that while some partners may engage in behaviors to stay connected to the addict, we hesitate to label it as enabling. Our conversation highlights the complexity of addressing both addiction and underlying issues in therapy, emphasizing the need for comprehensive approaches to relationship dynamics impacted by addiction.
