Tawny and special guest co-host Irina chat with actor, radio personality, and sober badass, Carlos Navarro. You might have seen him on TV in "Bloodline," "The Walking Dead," and most recently, Marvel's "Hawkeye." Carlos wasn't always on top. His story will connect with anyone who has ever experienced life's highs and lows and struggled with addiction. He has been broke, jobless, and self-destructive, drank too much, partied too hard, earned three mugshots, and landed in jail after an infamous on-stage fight in 2006 with a former radio colleague. But Carlos turned it around in 2007 by self-motivating, doing the work on himself to be a better human, digging deeper spiritually, and yes, giving up drinking. When he changed his thinking and gave up alcohol, it became a pivotal moment in his life and career taking off. Seven years sober, he’s now sharing his “mugshot to Marvel” journey to recovery.
The Music Minute highlights Eminem and Billy Joel.

The “B” in LGBTQIA+ is often seen as flaky, a phase, or promiscuous. Although we’re the largest subsect of the queer population, many bisexuals feel like they are not enough — which can impact our recovery. Tawny and special guest co-host Irina discuss how their bisexuality impacts their recovery, how they realized they were queer, and some of the bisexual characters on TV that impacted public views of bisexuality. They discuss the biggest bisexual myth: No, it’s not synonymous with polyamory. And they share how drinking impacted their views of themselves as bisexuals and how being sober has opened up their queer hearts. Finally, they share a few resources for those who think they may be bi or want to get more comfortable with their sexuality.

Writing and journaling can often be a big part of our recovery — some of us feel the need to share our stories with the world (or a close few), to heal through our words, and help others through shared experiences. Tawny and special guest co-host Irina talk about how they first met (writing!), how they connected and became writing besties through working on Tawny’s book, and what that process has been like. They give an inside baseball look at the publishing industry and how long it can take between that spark of an idea and seeing your book in bookstores. And of course, they discuss the music that gets them writing. The Music Minute highlights Macklemore's "10,000 Hours" and Tawny's writing playlist on Spotify.
