Have I ever told you guys that I’m a little bit passionate about First Responders? Oh, of course I have…
Well so is todays guest Allan Dignard. In fact he is a First Responder. These days as a Firey, Allan's life is pretty amazing… but it wasn’t always the case. It took years of suffering in silence, battling depression, anxiety, emotional eating, self-sabotage, alcohol abuse and a heavily strained home and family life ending in divorce before Allan became a health and wellness coach, turned his life around and now balances his own career with guiding others in the field.
As you can imagine, I’m a fangirl… so enjoy!

Peter Baines spent the best portion of 25 years as a forensic investigator. They’re the guys who get called in to respond to major crime scenes and incidents. He shares some of these harrowing experiences with me in this conversation and I’m truly inspired that there are people who rise up to such tasks, all in a days work. From the forensic investigation of brutal murder scenes in Australia to international events such as the Bali Bombings and the Thailand Tsumani where Peter was called to recover and identify thousands of bodies. From this experience he foundered the organisation Hands Across The Water, a not for profit assisting children in Thailand with housing, education and an all round better chance at the life every human deserves.

If you look up 'extreme' in the dictionary I think you’ll very well see a picture of today's guest. He is B A T S H I T crazy, he is inspiring, he is insightful and this conversation opened so many doors for my thinking to walk through!
Chris McDougall has spent 25 years as a professional skydiver, BASE jumper and wingsuit pilot. Douggs is one of the most experienced extreme sports athletes on the planet with over 13,000 (yep, that's thirteen thousand) jumps combined. He throws himself out off buildings, bridges, cliff faces and out of planes, for 'fun'.
Originally from Australia the sport has taken him around the globe as a world champion and world record holder in both skydiving and base jumping. He’s a bit crazy, he’s a bit an an adrenaline junkie, he’s a bit of a trail blazer and a he’s a bit hilarious and I’m partial to all of the above so of course, I loved this chat but I’m no closer to throwing my good self off a cliff anytime soon…
Chris stopped counting at around 130 friends lost through the sports, including his girlfriend in a skydiving accident in Australia. Such experiences along with losing both of his parents to illness when they were relatively young opens an interesting conversation around how we live in the present moment, access flow state, deal with life, loss and grief, and how we trust our instincts when it matters most.

Holy snapping ducksh*t...
If there was one sentence lingering in my mind at the end of the conversation you're about to listen to, that's it.
My guest is Clinical Psychologist and Author, Dr Bill Saunders. Amidst his decades of experience, here are some of the feathers in Bills cap. He has been a lecturer in psychological medicine at The University of Glasgow, a senior lecturer in Applied Social Studies, Director of Alcohol Studies at the University of Paisly, Scotland, Head of Addictions Studies at Curtain University, Perth, Professor of Psychology and head of the Clinical Psychology program at Curtain University.. in addition to all this and more he has consulted a wide range of agencies including the world health organisation and the united nations.
Bill specialises in the management of adult psychopathology, addictive behaviours, the co-occurrence of both and the impact of childhood trauma on adult psychological functioning.
In terms of what this episode covers… I don’t quite know what to tell you aside from I should have damn well known where my propensity to wheel myself under the microscope might just end us up.
We talk about Bills perspective of mental health and what's wrong with the 'what's wrong with you' method as opposed to the 'what happened' method. We talk about trauma, mental health diagnostics, medicine, therapy and of course we blur the lines between podcast and one on one therapy as I slide myself under the microscope...

Mark Divine, retired Navy Commander and Founder of SEALFIT proclaims him to be the fittest and mentally toughest 66 year old on the planet..
My guest is Robert Hamilton Owens, father of 5, Special Ops Pararescueman, 12 time iron man athlete and SEALFIT's 50 hour challenge competitor… it’s fair to say Robert has but his body and mind to the test a time or two to say the least.
In this episode we banter about his experiences along the way, the highs and the lows. About managing emotions and dealing our stuff before our stuff deals with us. He’s a weapon and an inspiration for anyone who want’s to develop mental and physical stamina.
Enjoy!

Today I have Kyle Riley, PH360 Epigenetic Educator & Artificial Intelligence self confessed 'geek' joining me for a banter.
We talk shop about where these two things are colliding and what that means for humans, health and fitness.
All things high tech vs old school and robots vs humans. Are we better off with computers than personal trainers? Would you take a dump and let your dunny tell you what your doctor used to? Can we trust the science and data or does it leave a giant hole in our biological needs that AI can't fill?
Tune in and hear us shoot the breeze over some of the pros and the cons of what’s already here and of what coming.

This is part II to yesterdays EP164... Old mate Harps gave assigned me some homework on this occasion.. gave me a few hours to come up with 10 'hard' questions to ask him, questions on topics he hasn't covered already in previous conversations. Now as he nears 500 episodes of his own podcast and as he's a naturally verbose lad, it's fair to say this assignment was taken on as no easy task. But as is is often the case, I nailed it and dug out some (in my opinion) quality banter.
Enjoy

Roll With The Punches is where we step into the ring and go toe to toe with the hard sh*t life throws our way.
Hosted by former boxing champ turned strength coach and speaker Tiff Cook, RWTP brings you big conversations with world-class guests about psychology, relationships, trauma, the brain, and the patterns that can make a bloody mess of our lives.
If you're curious about human behaviour, keen to challenge the stories you tell yourself, and want to understand why the hell you do what you do, you're in the right place. Tune in. Tiff's in your corner.
The goal? To question what you've always believed, understand yourself a little better, and turn those aha moments into actual change.
Because knowing better and doing better are two very different things.
And let's be honest... life's gonna keep throwing punches. We may as well learn how to roll with them.
